My wife and I, along with another couple traveling with us, had the pleasure of staying with Garvan, Kevin and Fred the dog for several days during our recent trip to Dublin. Rather than feeling like guests our welcome felt more like old friends returning after a long absence. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. Our respective rooms were immaculate and wonderfully decorated. Garvan's breakfasts were amazing and served on a white linen tablecloth accompanied by candles and soft music - a wonderful way to start the day. Being unfamiliar with Dublin we were a little uncertain about transportation options to get around the city but were pleased to find the B&B an easy 10 minute walk from McConnell Street with Temple Bar nearby. Garvan and Kevin were able to provide great tips on places to go and things to do that took us away from the normal tourist locations to places that only a long-time Dubliner would know. We love Ireland and the Irish and our hosts reflected the best of what this wonderful country has to offer.

Room Tip: Both rooms are immaculate, nicely decorated and quiet. The downstairs room has a working fireplace...

Just returned home from our trip to Dublin. Our stay could not have been better. Kevin, Garvan and Fred were quite possibly the best hosts. From the moment we booked our room, I knew we could be at ease. Kevin and Garvan communicated with us to make sure we had no allergies and were very accommodating when we were asking about good day trips away from Dublin. They even helped us book the tours and gave their opinions on which ones they thought would be best.

Once we arrived, we were treated to coffee and scones as they presented us with a list of good bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I must say, go to the places they recommend. They were some of the best things we did while there. Our room was absolutely delightful, comfortable and had fresh flowers and lavender atop the towels.

The block is very quaint, yet near to main roads, so it's very easy to grab a taxi if you don't feel like walking places. Don't forget to ask Kevin and Garvan about the community garden. They get a lot of produce from a garden on their block, that they started.

Now, the piece de resistance: The breakfasts! My oh my, the breakfasts. Having stayed in B&Bs before, sometimes, the second B can be a bit lacking. Heck, so can the first B! But, the breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Just when you thought that the breakfast couldn't be better than the one the day before, you are proven wrong and presented with some other amazing breakfast. Truly gourmet from the flavors and ingredients down to the presentation and even the music they play while you eat. Kevin and Garvan really have a passion for this and it most definitely shows.

I know when I go back to Dublin, this is the only place I will stay. I will also be recommending it to anyone I know who is planning on traveling to Dublin.

Thanks for a fantastic stay.
- Brian & John

I was in Ireland for business and had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Dublin. I was fortunate to decide on Kevin and Garvan's wonderful home (and Fred of course). And I did feel at home, from the glass of wine and conversation upon my arrival to the fire that was awaiting me in my garden-level room. For me, a highlight of the trip was not only the wonderful accommodation and tasty food, but a chance to learn about the host's efforts in the renaissance of their neighborhood and other local insights. You won't find that in any hotel! If you have a chance to see the community garden or walk the neighborhood with the hosts, don't miss it!

Hi Richard. Thanks so much for your review and so glad you found everything to your liking. Things haven't changed a whole lot since you were here - garden is still growing, albeit a little slower with our dodgy summer. Come visit next time you're in Dublin. Thanks again. Garvan

Kevin, Garvan & Fred were such lovely hosts. The house is just gorgeous and the bed is super comfy. The hospitality when staying here was one the best I have encountered. Kevin & Garvan offered us tips on great restaurants, good drinking holes, awesome tourist ideas and a map of Dublin. Their delightful home in only about 10 minutes walk from the main part of town. But if you just want a night in, the lounge area has music and movies galore.

I caught a bus which can take you from the airport to the house pretty easily.

But I can not finish without explaining the food. For all the 'foodies' out there...You will love this. The breakfasts were amazing. Fresh baked breads and different things every day. Delicious plunger coffee. Over and above anything I was expecting or experienced. Restaurant quality!

My husband & I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend 'Two Rooms in Dublin' to anyone wanting to visit Dublin and eat the BEST breakfast I have ever eaten in a B&B style accommodation. Plus Fred is cute and they had Vegemite for us =)

They really do think of everything!

Vegemite - I'm a convert and encourage guests to have it on toast with the fritata. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write your review. We're blown away by the positive feedback we are getting so thank you sincerely. Vegemite doesn't go off for a while, so come back and stay with us, finish the jar! Garvan, Kev & Fred.

From the very moment we arrived at Kevin & Garvan´s home we were instantly made welcome and very impressed by the style and character of this unique Dublin townhouse.
Arriving by car from the airport the location was very easy to find with parking right outside the front door. Greeted with a welcomed cup of coffee, Garvan gave us an excellent map and guide to various places to see in Dublin, before showing us to our room.
The Double Bed room was fantastic, very spacious, clean with many exclusive touches like fresh lavander & an open peat fire.
In the mornings we experienced the superb breakfasts of which we had previously read reviews about, which indeed lived up to their reputation. Fresh & locally sourced produce including home baked bread and scones (that morning) made a lasting impression.
Kevin & Garvan are wonderful people, fantastic hosts and we look forward to returning to our number 1 choice in Dublin. We believe their B&B will grow and grow in popularity as more people experience what they have to offer and we wish them all the best with this 1st class accomodation. Thank you Kevin, Garvan & of course wee Fred (the dog).

I had the immense pleasure over the weekend of visiting the wonderful Two Rooms in Dublin B&B for the second time. I first first visited in September 2011 with friends, filling both rooms, and I really didn't think anything could improve on the warm welcome from Kevin & Garvan and their adorable Schnauzer Fred - but I think it had actually gotten better! This may be due to the delicious berry pancakes served up to us in the dining room, the helpful suggestions of places to eat out (and offers to make bookings for us) and the addition of fabulous cupcakes awaiting after a late evening out.

The location is wonderful, just a ten minute walk from the centre of Dublin and right behind Croke Park (for the sports lovers!). The boys take great pride in both the lush garden behind the house and the community garden down the road from which the fresh jam originated and a visit to their home can only add to the pleasure of a trip to Dublin. I thoroughly recommend Two Rooms in Dublin to all travelers!!

Room Tip: Both rooms are wonderful - the downstairs one is very quiet and has it's own toilet, while the u...

Two rooms in Dublin was a compete delight from the moment we arrived. Kevin and Garvan are the wonderful friends you wish you had back home, their lovely home is a welcoming oasis, and the breakfasts are simply sublime. Two moments really stand out (out of many delights)- coming home really late to find a lovely fire set in the fireplace right next to our comfortable bed and a tray of delicious cupcakes waiting by our door, waking up to find a candle lit gourmet breakfast, jazz music, and a list of fabulous things to do that day delivered in person by Garvan and Kevin in the exquisite dining room. Who could ask for more? Hope we can come back soon.
