“Very interesting hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012 via mobile

Upon arrival of the hotel u are greated and the staff were very friendly especially the bar man who welcomed us on our trip tru d bar. It was a lovely hotel, themed very wel and very clean. There were only 1 or 2 small details, the man called to bring us to our rooms was not too happy that dere were 2 rooms on d opposite sides of the hotel as we had reserved a jr suite and a twin room and he made it clear to us. Then on arriving into the suite dere was a group of 8 flys circling the bed, which were taken care by the time we got back to the room but they really should have bn something done before we entered the room. We decided to have lunch in d restaurant before heading off. The food was fab and at a very reasonable price, dere were 2 waiters on the floor, the girl was very friendly and always had a lovely smile but the man who seemed to be a superior was a bit cold. He was good at his job but he wasnt very warm or welcoming. He didn't smile or even ask us if we wanted drinks before leaving our table after taking our order, we had to call him back. But over all a very enjoyable stay

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location which is central. My wife and myself stayed one night B&B. Total let done - our room was 2 star at best. Breakfast was terrible. We have stayed in many hotels in Dublin and this was by far our worst experience.

Here two nights on business, lovely place in a great location in dublin. Rooms (I had a standard) great, only gripe being the bathroom is a little dated. Service from staff has been top notch, and free wifi (really gets my goat that more hotels don't do this!).

Would definately recommend.

This small hotel is in a great location: Walked to Trinity College, to Guiness Factory, through historic Dublin, around the corner from Grafton Street shopping, St. Stephen's Green, shopping center & grocery store. Rooms were comfortable, staff friendly & helpful. Hotel rooms sit over popular bar which plays loud music till late at night. We were so tired from the travel & time change, it did not keep us up.

Great location for all of Dublin's attractions. Trinity College just a few blocks away; hop on hop off buses at the corner. Most attractions in walking distance. Very comfortable. Nicely appointed room; very nice bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Made a point to get our rooms ready early as we arrived at 8:00 a.m. Unique restaurant and popular disco/bar.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the disco below as the music plays well into the evening, at least on Frida...

La Stampa

This is a unique little hotel nestled in the heart of Dublin, on a street parallel to Grafton street. It's a beautiful hotel, small but very different in its decor. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very nice, it was right at the front of the hotel and had the potential to be very noisy but when you closed the double screened windows it was actually fine. The bathroom was unusual in the sense that it had a Grecian style bath with a large shower head and a wrap around curtain that took a bit of adjusting so as not to flood the bathroom, and then you felt like superman in a small phone booth trying to shower but it was so different it was kinda fun. The water was the only disappointing thing here as it went from being boiling to freezing with no in between. But to be fair, I rang reception and was told that they were working on the problem and to give it five minutes, which we did and it was fine. I only mention this because when we were checking out we were given a substantial discount on the rate and a genuine apology from a very pleasant receptionist. To sum up, if you want something different that's not going to break the bank, this is it. I'd also recommend that you walk straight down the road 5 minutes to Marco Pierre Whites steakhouse and have the special menu before 18:30, around €26 a head for a three course meal, beautiful food. So you could have quite a special night away for not too much !

the location was great, and we had a great time staying here, until we got to the breakfast. The hotel was luxurious but our room was nothing to write home about! the staff were unhelpful, slow and appeared to judge my friend and I, as if we shouldn't be staying in such a classy place! The room was nice, but I wouldnt stay here again, there were no tea making facilities, which is the first thing you want after travelling all day.
We complained on check out about the breakfast and got money off the bill, which was good, but overall not a fantastic experience.
