Paint peeling or chipped in many areas, ripped curtains in our room, lumpy mattress, one thin pillow. Large gouged out hole in bathroom cabinet where there had been a built-in tissue box ( I think). Dirty shower curtain, dirt or stains on wooden sides of beds, dirt behind furniture. Scary looking couches on first floor for WiFi, you really don't want to sit on them. The location was great, and we paid 83 Euros a night for three nights. Desk staff was very nice and there is always one other man called the porter who helps out and brings ice. Staying there was just a downer, it made you feel sad. The reviews really understated the condition of this building. Such potential!

Room Tip: the fifth floor is the quietest when the band is playing

We stayed at the Grafton Capitol Hotel for 2 nights from 17th April 2015. The hotel is very central for all sights of Dublin but as earlier reviews have stated it could do with a facelift. All rooms are fairly spacious with fully equiped bathrooms. I believe this hotel has recently been taken over which will no doubt increase the price. We never ate in the hotel as there were fabulous eating establishments close by.

Opposite the famous Post Office, this large, stylish hotel provides an excellent night's sleep. We had an offer which did not include breakfast or a view, but it was ideally situated for our journey and needs. the service was very friendly and the room was truly everything we expected. I should imagine that the more expensive rooms would be fantastic.

Room Tip: Check what is on offer, as it can be very expensive, but is very fine nonetheless

This hotel is full of old world charm. Yes it could do with a paint job but from going up to the revolving door at the entrance to the warm welcome we received and the large comfy room couldn't complain. Fab hotel right in the middle of the city centre. 2 minute walk to st stephens green. 5 min walk to temple bar. The guinness storehouse is a must visit as is the irish whiskey museum. The hop on hop off bus is fab and the airlink from the airport drops u off 5 minutes away from the hotel. The murchant arch in temple bar is a must as is o'connells across the river and sheenans pub just round the corner from the hotel. The hairy lemon which is opposite the hotel will soon become your local pub. Will defo return to the grafton capital, can't be better for location or price ;)

very well located, staff are very helpful and very pleasant, rooms are clean and comfortable, but slightly dated. hotel seemed busy, a good sign I think. shame there was no residents bar, but not the end of the world. will stay here again.
