Take the modern LUAS tram from center city to the Michael Collins Barracks (itself a piece of Irish history). This free museum has many rooms of very high level displays-- Irish room design and furnishings, Irtish silver, etc., as well as a vivid section on Irish military history including the 1916 Rising and the civil war. Well worth the trip for anyone interested in a deeper view of this fascinating nation and culture.
