I live in Dublin and have visited the national museum several times but I hadn't been for years until a recent visit. I quite enjoyed the visit as there are are some excellent artifacts in the museum such as the Tara Brooch, Cross of Cong, Ardagh chalice etc; It also has a very fine collection of gold jewellery from the bronze ages. There is a section which contains preserved bodies found in bogs. It is a pity that almost all the interactive elements no longer work and are in dis-repair as this gives me the impression that the curators don't really value their exhibits and gives a run-down feel. Overall, though it is a good collection and has free admission.

Thank you for taking the time out to post a review. We are delighted that you got to see, and enjoyed the iconic artefacts from our extensive collection, and that overall your visit was a success. Your concerns in relation to the interactive displays will be forwarded to the relevant department as the on-going maintenance of these units would not fall within the curators' remit.
