“Lovely place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Pros:
- The room was spacious with plenty of storage space
- It was kept to an exceptional standard of cleanliness
- The beds were very comfortable
- The staff were very hospitable
- There was always hot water

Cons:
- The hotel is situated on the north side of the city, meaning it's roughly a 20-25 minute walk to get to any attractions (so bring comfy shoes!)
- A mini fridge would have been nice to have in the hotel room
- The food in their restaurant seemed over-priced
- Air con would have been nice as the rooms tended to get quite hot at night

I stayed here with some pupils on a school trip and it was very good for the purpose we needed. There were two others school trips there at the same time, so perhaps this is more a hotel for groups rather than individuals who want total peace. It was all very clean and the checkin was very efficient. The room I had was good with a large king size bed. It was all very good, just a little dated in all areas e.g. Dark patterned carpets, shower curtain slightly grubby, bathroom needed a refurbishment. The breakfast is a buffet and there was plenty of choice, most people seemed to love it. It wouldn't really be my ideal choice as I like a hot breakfast that is freshly cooked etc, but there was plenty of things to have. The location of the hotel is very good, a short walk to O'Connell street and only about ten minutes to Grafton Street. For location alone you would stay here, however there is no parking for anyone who is driving into the city.

A lovely hotel, in a very central position, in a quiet road; just a short walk from the Airbus in Cathal Brugha Street. The staff were wonderful, going out of their way to be so helpful, including sorting out our booking mistake. I thank them very much for that! The receptionists were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on all things needed for tourists in Dublin. .
We arrived 3 days before St Patrick's day and despite the obvious busy preparations for that we never felt we were in the way or that we were getting a 2nd class service, It felt like a big happy family, we even had the carpet fitters help us with our bags, smiles included!
We arrived quite late the first day so took our meal in the restaurant. The food was very good. The service excellent. We stayed and chatted and although we were the last to leave, were never given the impression they wanted us to hurry up and go.. Breakfast was full and varied and staff again very cheerful and friendly. Any extras required they were happy to accommodate.
The rooms were beautiful, clean and spacious. We never heard any noise from other guests. Wonderful restful nights sleep. Despite sleeping with the window open, there was little street noise.
On checking out we were asked the time of our flight and as it was late our bags were tagged and put in storage to collect later while we enjoyed our last hours in Dublin.
I enjoyed my stay so much I have already booked for a return visit later this year.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful - really going out of their way to assist. The evening meals were of a good standard but breakfast a little disappointing. The hotel has a slightly tired appearance. The bedroom window had to be propped open & the bathroom window couldn't be open when occupied as there was no blind.

Room Tip: It was noisy in the room at the front of the hotel.

We arrived in Dublin exhausted from the flight and hours before check in time. The staff allowed us to leave our luggage in the office and told us they would try to have our room ready early. We walked around the area, the hotel is close to everything it seems! We returned still 2 hours before check in time but our room was ready! What a welcome nap. The food in the restaurants in the hotel was good and moderately priced. The room was a bit dated but well kept and quiet. We received a welcome note and gift in our room and the staff was very helpful in arranging transportation, giving advice, and booking a stay later in our time in Ireland. They advised us on dining , proper cab fares, and when to go where to get the most out of our time. Overall a very good experience. When back in Dublin we would stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: Make sure you express your wishes on the size of bed you would like. They are very helpful in this a...

We have been here in February. We got a room on the 4th floor. Everything was a bit dated but we did not mind. It was a large bed, and a large room. Only the bath was small, one person could just sit in it.
What was a drawback, is that our neighbors smoked, And we could smell the smoke in the bathroom. If we did not keep our bedroomdoor closed you could smell the smoke in the bedroom.
Furthermore, everything is within walking distance which is ideal. A bus from the airport stops about 500 meters from the hotel.
1 tip for the people behind the counter, greet your guests as they walk through the lobby. most of the time you did not see us, or were not interested.
But for our next trip to Dublin, we will definitely go back to this hotel.
