We stayed there for five days with my girlfriend in July. When we arrived, we were suprised by how big the room was (we had the room 48, just under the roof). But upon a closest inspection, we found strange stains in the sheets and the cover of the bed. After telling it to the receptionist (acutally helpful !), the sheets were changed but not the cover. Fortunately, this summer was quite hot so we just left the cover, hoping it will be changed the next day... But it weren't. Neither were our sheets (for 5 consecutive nights). The floor was never vaccumed in our entire stay, and the glasses in the bathroom were not even washed. For 90€ a night, I was expecting more (at least the basics). The walls were really thin and even if we were isolated from the other rooms, we were awakened by the snoring of another host. We asked twice for the cover to be changed, it was never done. Oh, and one last word about our "lovely" host : we met him only once, on our last day. We met a french family in the reception and had a family bus pass for the rest of the day. I gave the bus pass to the family and we discussed for a while. When the host showed up, he simply told us to go to the lobby to discuss. Not even a "hello".
If you have a choice, avoid this guest house at all cost. It is far to expensive for little to no service and a really, really poor hygiene. It looks lovely on the outside and at first glance, but scratch the surface a little bit and you will have a bad surprise.

The "stains" on the sheets were not stains but grey discoloration. The sheets were spotlessly clean but the discoloration should have noticed by the housekeeper. Apologies for that.
Our sheets are rented from a very reputable firm called Premier Linen. They come to us washed, dried and ironed. On very rare occasions the above happens. The sheets as you say were changed immediately. The cover should have been changed immediately but was not done until the next day.
I have owned and managed this guesthouse for 13 years. I always greet my guests in a very warm fashion and am always very helpful.
I do not understand the issue you had with the French family and the bus pass.
Lastly I do not understand why you stayed for 5 days if things were that bad or why you made just one complaint during your entire stay. You could have got your money back for the unused days.
