My friends and I made a last minute decision to go to Dublin for two days, and this was the first hotel we found that was a quick, cheap booking. First thing, we were at the top floor, there was no lift and we had pretty heavy bags, so that wasn't too fun. The room was also oddly lopsided, to the point where I put a pen on the ground and it flew to the other side of the room. This wasn't anything I minded though, it was more the fact the bed had a large cave in the bottom and my body was at an angle when I slept. Windows were paper thin so you better not be a light sleeper - the area can get rowdy at night. The shower door was broken, so we had to squeeze in, my friend that was a bit larger simply couldn't have one. Other than that, it's sleepable in, I just wouldn't stay there for too long. Positives were great location for restaurants, lovely pub and Italian restaurant down the road. Receptionist was helpful, minded our bags for the whole day even after we checked out, and gave us directions to the zoo.

Very central located hotel I the heart of Dublin.

Room was clean and basic, contained four single beds and own bathroom.

Stairs are difficult for lack of mobility patrons

Only down side was one window had a gap allowing noise from street into room, however I was too tired to change room ;)

The location is fantastic, in the middle of Temple Bar, with easy access to major sights, restaurants and nightlife in Dublin.

My room had no window (but I left the door to the bathroom open, where there were windows), but enjoyed a peaceful location towards an inner courtyard. The staff was very friendly and organised a taxi for me. WiFi in the room worked all the time.

I stayed at the Bridge House for a night before starting my 6 day tour of Ireland. I saw pictures of the rooms and it looked decent so I booked despite all of the bad reviews I had read.

I think that this hotel was decent. Great value for your money and you’re right in the heart of the city close to shops, restaurants and pubs!

The staff was very friendly and were always smiling and the room was clean and tidy.
I’m not sure what the people with the horrible reviews expect for the amount of money that you pay. It’s an old city, of course old buildings are not going to have elevators and it may be a bit crooked. Has anyone ever been to any other places in Europe? Just a tip – this is common.

For the people who are taking families there and then complaining about the noise – you’re in a hotel rated as a 2 * (which I think deserves a better rating to be honest) and in the pub and bar district, what are you thinking????

Overall, the staff was great, location was prime and it was great value for your money. There were hostels that were more expensive than what I paid for my room so I think it was very reasonable. Besides, I was in Dublin to check out the city and nightlife not to stay in my room watching tv. Also, it is common to have reception to take the keys before you go out, this is a common practice. I stayed in a B&B 5 times the price of the Bridge House at the end of my tour, because the Bridge House was all booked up and they had the same policy. The other B&B was nice but not worth the money and far from the city centre.
I would book this hotel again

Room tip: good value, I'd stay here again
