“great temporary exhibitions and good guides”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

The Little Museum has improved dramatically since my first visit when it first opened. It now covers three floors of a beautiful Georgian building. The two main rooms have endless memorabilia on the walls and a tour of this area is a good idea. The temporary photographic exhibitions I saw were also very interesting - tenement life in 1913 and also an exhibition on later Dublin. It is good value and aside from that there are special offers of free entrance also for a few hours every week. It is also open late on a Thursday.... almost all museums in Dublin close at 5pm every day so this would be a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Thursday evening.

Thank you. We love reading reviews like this. Come back to the museum soon, our temporary exhibits change all the time. A new exhibition ''The Huddled Masses'' will be starting in May, it will document the relationship between the Irish and Americans.

“A Little Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

I loved this small, quirky museum. Set over 3 floors in a Georgian house close to St Stephens Green it retold some of the social history of Dublin from the 1900's to the 2000's. There was a photographic exhibition of the history of the tenements in the city which was very informative. Well worth a visit!

“A Dubliner Wunderkammer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This past summer, I took the family to Dublin for my second visit there, and their first. We initially popped in to the museum after noticing a banner for a photo exhibit. The exhibition, a group of photos from the early days of U2 and other Dubliner music luminaries, was really charming and painted a different, more intimate, portrait of what it was to be young, punk, and free in those days. The exhibit upstairs was appropriately intimate as well. A motley collection of objects, artwork, photos and manuscripts paints an illuminating portrait of Dublin's people. This is a People's Museum.

We opted not to listen to a guide, but merely took in all there was to see and tried to form our own connections. If you're interested in what it meant to go to a museum in the 17th century, this place, along with the "Dead Zoo" is a perfect example of a true collection. Only the collector truly knows every object's significance.

The staff were really lovely and a testament to the friendliness of Irish people. As Texans, we felt at home.

“Great experience, really informative and enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Visited the little museum yesterday afternoon. Really surprised by how many interesting artefacts are in just two rooms. The guide really makes the experience though as you get a proper insight into the memorabilia and the stories behind it. Can't recommend it enough.
