“A Popular Lunchtime Institution”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

Handily located just off the top of Grafton Street, Metro cafe is a bit of a lunchtime institution. Always busy and with good reason; when people are hopping out of the office for an hour, what they want is quality an consistency served up with a bit of craic. The menu is pretty simple but the sandwiches and soups are generally very decent. Prices had, I think, gotten a little steeper in the past year or so but there's always a great atmosphere and, when we're lucky enough to have some sunshine, lots of outdoor seating. Will likely keep doing the do for many more years to come.

“Not Paris, but very French!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

We called in here as we were doing a re-run of an earlier trip to Dublin, but just wanted a quick stop-off. It was fab! The staff were very attentive and efficient and the food fresh and filling. Reasonably priced and perfect for brunch or lunch, we were glad to find somewhere we hadn't been before that sustained our love of the city. Thanks Metro cafe!!

“A must try!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

Stopped here one morning to grab brunch, it was cheaper than the others on the street and served all day breakfast. The food was amazing, staff were friendly, really got a good feed and very well priced. I couldn't finish mine. Its always a good sign when the place is packed out yet service is speedy. Wonderful!!!

“it's like stepping in Paris.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

I really like this cafe. decor is very Parisienne. The staff are very courteous. Coffee and cakes are great. It's a lovely little stop gap to refresh the batteries when in town. If the weather is good, perfect to sit outside and watch the world go by!

“Great littlle city centre cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

Coming towards the end of South William Street and trying to find a place to eat can sometimes prove a tough decision as there are so many options, which include three cafes and two restaurants. If you are looking for a quick bite, or a spot to have a coffee and read your paper then Metro is as good as any to meet your needs.

Seating is provided outside and if you arrive with a dog and a hardy constitution to combat the Irish weather then you will be provided with a blanket for yourself and a bowl of water for your companion. The staff are lovely and very efficient. The décor is reminiscent of a French café with a slight old world charm to it. The food won’t win any awards but is fresh and tasty and always served promptly.

Do try their marshmallow hot chocolate at a seat outside to watch the world go by, if the weather permits that is. Alternatively the warmer option is in the back by the big windows!
