“St Stephen's calmer, quieter little brother”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Not all parks are created equal. St Stephen's Green is a big, central park, filled with art and Georgian monuments. Great poet's busts line its paths. The Iveagh Garden, is a smaller, more timid little park of Harcourt Street. But small and quiet can be just right.
I've had the pleasure to sit here every morning at the start of my day for a week. Mornings were sunny and less windy, so I sat here with coffee, sandwich and paper, and strolled through it's grounds. It was beautiful. This park is filled with small birds (mostly robins), has lot's of small niches and secret corners and is generally very quiet. Tucked away between old houses and churches, it feel as if you are in the Secret Garden.
Granted, it was winter, and I have no idea how this would be in the Summer. But if you are in the area and want a bit of P&Q, this is the perfect spot.

“Surely best in the summer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

I visited the Iveagh Gardens in the winter of 2012 and they surely are a nice, peaceful place to sit and relax. Of course, they must be magnificent during the summer, as the flowers should be in full bloom and the main fountain is on.

However, the statues get a gloom and mournful aura that is so attractive and gets you pensive in the winter. The lights are dim and really disperse which allows for very interesting pictures!

I really enjoyed the visit and will definitely go again, in warmer times :)

“It's like the secret garden!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

I love the Iveagh Gardens! I go here whenever I can when I am in Dublin it's a lovely hideaway in the center of the city. I love to stroll around and just relax in it's calm surroundings, I love the intimate peaceful feeling while still knowing I'm in the busy city! It a great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle without needing to go far. It's also a great place to go in the summer for picnics with friends! Which I did in June with a few of my friends, it was lovely in the sun and great for people watching with other groups with the same idea as us! Not far from Stephen's green but much calmer and more intimate than the busy park. A favourite in my opinion!
