“Classical on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stayed here in February 2013, we got a great deal at 70 euro a night.

Location is ok very close to RDS and aviva stadium is one stop on the DART.

Central Dublin is about 10mins on the DART which cost around 2 euro each way.

Hotel is ok rooms could do with a spruce up and maybe a new bed, the current ones are a bit hard..........

I have stayed several times at Bewleys, Ballsbridge. Mostly when I have to be at the RDS or Aviva Stadium, which is within walking distance. On the dozen or so times I have stayed, its been very good. The rate is reasonable at €69 euros, rooms are standard hotel rooms. Professional staff and good food and drink. You can't beat the location and price-good value for money.

We had two family rooms for 2 nights. The hotel staff are efficient( to the point of rude ) but not friendly, great if your on business but not on holiday.... the bar was full when we went for our evening meal... we had to wait nearly half an hour as we were ignored by most of the waiting staff for the period. the food when it came was OK, only OK... However, the breakfast was excellent ! the bed linen was made of what i would call " sweet paper " every time anyone moved the noise was such as to wake one or more of the occupants.... My family were in dublin for shopping, I went home the following day, I had enough of that hotel....Sorry Bewleys, great looking hotel from the outside but what lies within is poor in most aspects

Room Tip: 1. Dublin bus runs from outside hotel no's 4,7 and 8. make sure you have lots of coins as they w...

My husband and I stayed at Bewley's Ballysbridge in dec.2012. The staff were excellent very friendly. rooms were very clean. We had breakfast in the rstaurant they had all you would want hot and cold and it was lovely. There is a bus stop just outside the door which was great for going into the city for christmas shopping. Also the grounds at the front of the hotel i think would be lovely for wedding photos.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days over Christmas 2012. I have been here a few times before over the years and always found it great value for money. I arrived late on Christmas Eve with my boyfriend and 13 year old son. Very efficient check in. Professional staff. Plenty of complimentary mulled wine for the many guests staying there for Christmas. Lots of young children running about. A nice mix of people, families, groups of teenagers and tour groups. Beautifully decorated for the festive season. A bit of a sing song in the lounge which had a nice atmosphere. Rooms have tea/coffee facilities. Good shower. A little dated in decor. A lovely building. Price of room was very good value. Breakfast great range available, plenty of seats. We had Christmas Day dinner an 'all you can eat buffet' 35 euro per adult child half price. Excellent food, deserts to die for and staff promptly replenished when food ran low. Wasn't sure what to expect from a city hotel over Christmas, and we were really impressed with the service and food. We were reluctant to check out as it was so relaxing and really close to the center of Dublin City for a nice day of shopping etc. We have recommended the hotel to family and friends if they ever fancy spending Christmas where someone else does the cooking and cleaning over the festive season! There was a Christmas Dinner - 5 course on offer for 99 euro per person with piano music accompanying the guests as they dined. This was booked out. However the buffet suited us fine and the dining room where it was served was very beautiful. Staff were attentive throughout the hotel and every one of them were smiling and very helpful.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for Valentines day, we were greeted by friendly staff in reception. The foyer, restaurant and lounge are very fancy however this contrasted with the room which was very plain and average. For the value of the room however, this was acceptable.. The room did have some need for improvement with dirty windows and a cigarette burn in one of the cushions on the bed.

We went to a wonderful restaurant in Ballsbridge which is a lovely area for food and a few drinks. The lounge area in the hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere with big comfy armchairs and cheery barmen.

The breakfast was delicious with a large selection of hot and cold food and a coffee machine.

I was very disappointed with the fact that we had to pay ten euro for parking which I feel is distasteful with a little hidden extra charge for staying in their hotel.

Overall this is a lovely hotel with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, would be recommended to pay a little extra for a luxury room for a special occasion.

I thought i was a lovely Hotel with friendly staff but some other people with kids thought differently. All kids had to be out of the Bar at a certain time which was most inconvenient . And the price of drink !!! I was on Business so i was not drinking so i ordered Cidona , and then he came out with Sparkling Apple Juice and Charged me something like €5 .

Room Tip: Go the the '' Four Seasons Hotel '' across from it :P
