“Great Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

This will be one of the lowest prices you get in or near the city centre. I got a clean, comfortable room. They said internet would not work in the room, but it did. The ensuite was clean and spacious. The shower was bigger than mine at home. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The area can seem a little dodgy, but I found it comfortable. The pubs were warm and friendly.

There are bus stops in front of the hotel that connect with the Dublin Airport at around €2 each way. (41 or 16a from the airport. 16a to the airport, 41 from farther north.)

I was not expecting much from this place but I have to admit that I was even disappointed!
- I am no clean freak but the bathroom in my room was filthy with only 2 towels for a twin room and no bath mat. The walls of the pathetic shower were covered in mold.
- There was a rather suspicious sticky stain on the side of my bedside table that I can only presume was vomit.
- The spare pillow in the wardrobe was heavily stained and smelled bad.
-The full Irish breakfast for 8.95 euro was.... in one word disgusting. The pudding was stone cold, the fried egg was raw all through the middle and the whole meal was dominated by chips. I'm Irish and I never had such a disgusting meal.
- The waiter was rude and ignored us for 20 minutes. when I did take out order he forgot about our tea and coffee order. When we finally got the tea and coffee ( when we were finished the meal) he didn't give us milk!
- I know it was cheap and cheerful but i was expecting some basics like a cup and some tea to go with the kettle in the room.
-I am in my 20's and I struggled to make it up and down the flights of stairs. It was like a labyrinth where you go up and then down the stairs before going back up again. Made even harder when you are dragging you luggage up too.
I just hope that tourists from around the world don't judge Ireland on any bad experiences they have while staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the top floor. A long climb up the stairs but worth it for the peace and quiet. Lo...

Cheap and cheerful hotel. Ok so our room wasn't exactly The Ritz, but the shower was good and hot, clean sheets and clean towels, so we were happy. The pub below was great, cheapest Guinness in Dublin and the locals were so friendly. As has been mentioned, this hotel is excellent for those on a budget,as we were. We bought a 3 day rambler ticket for 13 euros, which brought us from the airport to hotel, around dublin for 3 days and back to airport on day 3. Bus 16A goes to and from airport and stops right by the hotel. Kylemore on O'Connell St does a cracking brekky (eggs bacon etc) and a mug of tea for 5 euros.. We were warned Dublin is really expensive, but cheaper places to eat/drink are there if you can be bothered to look. Fantastic city, we loved it and will be back soon.

Don't be scared off by previous reviews as we nearly were. This Hotel was a pleasent suprise. The room was clean and tidy (no stains or bad smells!) and the bed was comfortable enough. The room was simple but had all the necessities of side tables with draws, a cupboard and a vanity desk with large mirror, several power sockets, phone and kettle. The room also provided a TV that was good enough quality and had more than enough channels. The bathroom was adequate with a strong power shower, mind the broken toilet seat. The pub noise above wasn't a bother (mind we stayed below and came back on average around midnight). The staff and locals were welcoming and helpful.
Temple Bar was an easy 10-15 minute walk at most, simply turning once down the road. The airbus will drop you off just outside if your lucky! However the bus stop isn't far.
