I am a 60 year old woman traveling alone. When I arrived with two very heavy bags, I was told my room was on the top floor and left alone to haul my bags up seven flights of stairs. The room was tiny and dingy. The plaster above the bed was cracked and water-stained from the roof leaking. The box spring had unexplainable brown stains and sat directly on the floor. The shower curtain rank of must, mould on the tiles, and the bathroom ceiling had holes in the plaster. There was nothing to make a coffee in the room, so I spent a small fortune at the local shop when I wanted something to drink, and I was not offered breakfast, a coffee or anything at the Guesthouse. I woke up at 1 am to the sound of yelling and car alarms only to find that there was a pool hall / karaoke/ adult entertainment place directly out my bedroom window. I did not feel safe, I did not feel comfortable, I was very happy to check out. I only saw the owner twice, when I checked in, and when I checked out. She seemed pleasant, but I will never go back.

It genuinely disturbs me that I, in anyway, might unknowingly cause grief
to a customer, where many of the people who have stayed here tell me how much they have enjoyed it, this can never make up for the one who has been upset.
The room which you had been allotted, being a single room, is one of two, they are both situated on the top floor, when ever possible I give single guests rooms lower down sometimes in fact they might find themselves in family rooms, I do this especially if they have a lot of luggage or as in your case who like myself are in the older age category, perhaps on the night in question we were fully booked, whichever the case may be I regret your discomfort.
The items you pointed out have been rectified, I can't understand how you missed breakfast as it is part of what you booked and paid for, so if you do return we will endevour to take good care of you, so please give us this second chance.
