For an affordable location, Eliza Lodge can't be beat. It's smack in the center of Temple Bar. I arrived around noon and had a reservation for a single room. The room was not ready so they upgraded me to a 'suite on the 4th floor. It had a small balcony and a beautiful view of the River Liffey. The room itself and the bathroom were both small but functional. Wi-fi (which was free) was sketchy and very weak. The only gripe I had is that the heat/air conditioning is controlled from the reception (which was closed, more than it was open - you had to go to the restaurant next door to get assistance). So, after an hour of working in the room, it was freezing. I requested the temperature to be raised. That night, the heat unit would automatically switch itself on so every few hours, I'd wake up in a sweat because the room hit 85 degrees! I'd have to switch it off again but it would only kick back in. I was only there for one night so I just dealt with it. I woke up very early the next day for a tour so I was not able to take advantage of their breakfast.
