“great finish to our holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We were only able to spend one night here. The location for transport to Dublin was just outside. Nice walk along the front by the water. The breakfast was great and pub food was also good. A short walk along the bay is a great deli good fresh food.

Clontarf castle hotel is such an awesome spot! It has a great historical story and has one original tower from the initial build in the 11th century!! We stayed for one night for our 5th wedding anniversary. We had drinks in the Knight's Bar and dinner at Fahrenheit Grill which was amazing, they both have great character. It was lovely to stroll in and around the hotel after dinner, the grounds are beautiful also. The only thing I was disappointed with was the Indigo Lounge was closed to the public for a private function, not a downfall on the hotel's part just bad timing I guess. All in all we really enjoyed it.

We spent 3 nights here. We loved the amenities and location. The Hop on Hop off bus leaves here in the morning, than when you find your way back via local bus...easy! We walked daily by the water on Dublin bay, got lunch at the Food Room, fantastic fresh salads, and deli down the road!
The Clontarfs' breakfast and pub food was good, if you wanted to stay put.
You can have the hustle and bustle of the city, then the calm of the water near by.
Very safe neighborhoods to walk in, we can not say enough about this property, and its location.

Our family of four had a really nice stay at the hotel in late july 2013. Very close to Dublin but without the big city hassle. Good atmosphere and a lot of history in the area. Our family room could have been larger, but was sufficient.

I would highly recommend Clontarf Castle to anyone! It was lovely and perfectly balanced modern and medieval. Accommodations were superb; they even had US outlets at the proper voltage to charge my electronics. The grounds are beautiful & peaceful! Highly recommend!

Our room in this castle was very nice and was extremely modernized. The restaurant was also great. The staff was helpful and everything went smoothly. Not much bad to say other than there is not much in walking distance to eat or see.

my son and daughter in law were flying back to Australia & she had always wanted to stay in a castle. I booked this hotel as a surprise and what a delightful place. Everything was perfect. Beds were so comfortable and the food in the Fahrenheit restaurant was superb. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately be back.
