“No service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2010 via mobile

The service is very poor. Sat in the lobby area trying to order a cup of coffee. Was ignored by two waitresses. Used the service button on the table several times. No service was offered.

At the Red Cow Hotel, we are committed to service. It was with our customer needs in mind that we introduced these "service buttons" which sit on our lobby tables. We did have some technical issues with these on first introduction in September 2010 but this has since been resolved. I apologise on behalf of the hotel but the service buttons are now working but we have also increased our staffing levels during busy times so as to always meet our customer needs.

Myself and my husband got married there the 24th of July. From entering the hotel to the end of the night the staff could not have done more for us. Food was superb, room was beautifully decorated and bedrooms were spotless. Would highly reccommend anyone to get married there and will definitley stay again!

my friend and i stayed at the red cow hotel on a bargain 2 nite break and it was excellent. we travelled to dublin to see a show at grand canal theatre. the location was excellent as the luas is so convenient. the rooms were lovely as were the breakfasts. we ate at the inn on the second nite and it was delicious and resonable. i would definately reccommend this hotel to anyone, so much so that my 7 year old son conveyed his wish to live at the red cow on his return. thanks to all for a lovely stay

Large hotel on one of the main routes out of Dublin. Not old, but showing its age. Restaurant a bit small for the number of guests having breakfast. Spacious rooms. Tram into the city goes past the door, but it's a pain to get to the tram stop other side of a mutli-level interchange.

We stayed in the Moran Red Cow Hotel for 3 nights’ bed & breakfast including 1 evening meal at the end of July 2010. We chose to use it as our base for a city break and, as we did not particularly want to drive and park in the city centre on this occasion, the proximity to the M50 suited us.
We knew the Luas line was nearby when we booked so the distance from the city centre was not an issue. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the Luas Station and the walkway is very open to the elements and I don’t think I would like to be walking there late at night. Although the hotel is situated on a very busy route, the traffic noise did not cause us any sleep disturbance as our room did not face the busy road and we were also able to park our car within view of the room window.
The reception staff were really welcoming, friendly and efficient and the bedroom was large enough with 1 comfortable double & 1 single bed. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided as well as free wireless internet access. The bathroom was an adequate size, clean with fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. The air conditioning in our room was very noisy so we opted to switch it off which made the room rather warm. I do love Christmas but why oh why did we have advertisements in the room for the Christmas nights at the Red Cow in JULY – really, really irritating! And every time I tucked them out of the way housekeeping very efficiently put them back up on display!
On our first night we had bar food in the Red Cow Inn, which is in the same grounds as the hotel and had a very enjoyable meal. We also ate in the Winter Garden Restaurant on our second night and the food was nice, though the menu felt slightly dated but the staff are really pleasant. Breakfast was average with the usual choice of juices, cereals, fruit, & full Irish breakfast.
Given the location the hotel is probably very well used by business clients but it is also suitable for the city break traveller who doesn’t mind not being in the heart of the city. All in all it was a lovely stay nice food and good service and we would happily stay again.

We celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary with Red Cow Hotel and from time we booked in at Reception to leaving hotel the following day, they made us feel so welcome like they did on our Wedding Day.
I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone for a Wedding or stay over. I couldn't find any fault with it

My mother and sister recently stayed one night at the Red Cow on a one night website special package which included an evening meal, bed & breakfast and would like to share their experience with you!

Location: It's difficult to get to if you are using public transport. The Red Cow LUAS stop is not that easy to reach by foot and anybody with a disability would find this very hard.

Accommodation: If you are staying on a website special deal you will more than likely be put in a small cramped room at the end of the corridor which is a long way from the lift. The rooms reek of cigarette smoke, even though a non smoking room was requested. If you wish to sleep, forget about it; the beds are hard and the walls are thin. If the neighbours don't keep you awake the music and noise from the function room most certainly will.

Food: Expect to be hungry as the evening meal is undesirable, the breakfast was the only edible thing on the menu! Some of the waiting staff have little English and may find it hard to understand your requests.

Check-in service: If you are not a foreigner i.e. if you are Irish, expect to be treated as a second class citizen!
