Lovely hotel, conviently located in Dublin. Staff where very friendly & helpful, Food in Groomes bar was excellent, & the breakfast was a help yourself buffet, which was excellent value for money. Bedrooms are well appointed & comfortable, good wifi availabilty in the rooms.

Very good city centre location just off O'Connell Street, busy during the day but alot quieter at night. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. The bar and lounge areas are very well furnished and the food and sevice were very good, particularly breakfast with plenty of choice. The bedroom was well appointed, warm and comfortable. Although on the side of the hotel and not much of a view, it was very quiet late at night, which was more appreciated after a busy day. We spent a very relaxing stress free three nights here, and hope to return in the near future.

Room Tip: Ask when booking.

This hotel is showing signs of the recession that gripped Ireland, in that its a bit tired and frayed at he seams. THe staff are nice and the location, at he top of O'connell st, is perfect. We were given a lovely room , that was quite large, with an old balcony. The balcony was a good size, but was sadly neglected. It could have been pleasant sitting outside with a wine, but the felt type carpet squares on the balcony looked, and felt like they had been in the rain for a long time. Renovation needed. Pity as Dublin had some hot days when we were there.its a budget hotel, and worth staying, but I hope they can find the time and money to renovate the dated rooms

Nice location across the street from the Gate Theatre and down the block from the Garden of Remembrance Park. There's a large and more modern complex behind the 19th C. facade but the the building does have the usual drawbacks of an older hotel including temperature and noise issues as well as limited elevator capacity. That's offset by the convenient location and professional staff. They made an effort to accomodate our arrival after a trans-Atlantic flight despite the fact that the hotel was sold out on all three nights we were there.

I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-September. It is very comfortable, clean and with friendly staff. The breakfast is good and reasonable value, but make sure that you request a voucher (free) from reception first; otherwise you will be charged an extra 1 Euro - quite an arcane idea, really, but the only negative about this place. I was not informed about this requirement when checking in. The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk or so from Temple Bar and Trinity College, and my room was very quiet. Recommended.

Stayed for a conference in September 2013. Great location within walking distance to main O'Connell street, shopping areas and bus stops. Hotel staff were reasonably friendly. Room was nice and cleaned daily, but serious problem with heating! The room was overheated every night and it was difficult to get to sleep! Overall I thought it was a bit pricey for the quality for 4 nights.

We somehow got a room off the main part of the building which was quite spacious however when you walked into the bathroom it was on a bit of a slant! We didn't get the wifi in our room which was a bit of a pain but could get it just outside of our room in the lounge. The food in the restaurant was pretty terrible but breakfast was nice. Location is pretty good right on the main road in Dublin. Can walk to Temple Bar and all the bus stops are on the main road. Hotel staff we're friendly and helpful (except 1). Good price and location for a 3 star .
