Arrived at hotel early, facilities for bag storage available.
Allocated 2 rooms, one which smelt of smoke - not good for non-smokers and one smallish room.
In both rooms the soap dishes were hanging off the wall in the bathrooms. All the usual stuff in the rooms and comfortable beds.
Breakfast was extremely busy, with people having to queue in the reception area for a table. When we got our table, the hot food was limited in quantity and we found it difficult to get more. One day we ordered poached eggs which were as hard as marbles when they arrived...
The lifts sometimes had a mind of their own and made funny noises but they did work!
Overall the location and helpfulness of the check-in staff will be our lasting memory.
Stayed 3 nights at Cassidy Hotel in Dublin and the location is great. You walk out the door and within 5 minutes you are in the city shopping area and another 5 minutes and you are in the historical area of Dublin.
The room was a good size and the ensuite had a bath and shower that worked very well. The room was very comfortable and was at the rear of the hotel so we had some noise from neighbouring properties until about 11:00 PM each night.
Free internet at reception and we had a car park at the rear of the hotel. Parking is limited so you need to be either lucky or get in early. The hotel restaurant had good value meals and the atmosphere was much better than a few other Irish pubs we had visited.
Reception were very helpful in giving advice and we would stay in this hotel again if going to Dublin.
I stayed at Cassidy's for 4 nights in August 07. It was in a great location at Parnell Square, handy for the airport buses and tour buses and also within walking distance of the Temple Bar district. The rooms were spotless and room service was very good. The staff were very professional & very friendly. The bar/restraurant was reasonably priced and the meals we had were very enjoyable. Overall it was at the dearer end of the market for 4 nights but I would go back as I was very happy with my time there.
Stayed 3 nights with group of friends. Overall an excellent choice of hotel chosen from reviews on this site and elsewhere. Perfectly located to see Dublin. Very atmospheric due to Rugby match between Cork and Kerry!!! Amazing and all very friendly. It was a very different Dublin on Monday morning when things were in back to work mode. Interesting. Breakfast very good. Staff always keen to help, polite and pleasant. We had 3 rooms. These rooms very different in size and appearance.........will forgive them though as everything else so good. Upper floor rooms allocated and we were not disturbed by excessive noise.
Bar meal was better than expected and reasonable. Booked Irish night out at The Arlington Hotel with meal (average), music (good) and dancing(wonderful). Sunday afternoon visit to Brazens Head was so enjoyable with a "session" going on, including playing the spoons! Visit Howth by Dart train if time allows. Pretty and interesting fishing village, 20 mins from Dublin and very easy to do. We will be returning to Ireland. It's good.
