Only a one star rating as it was impossible to sleep at this hotel. On our first night there was a birthday party in the beer garden behind the hotel which went onto the early hours of the morning. No consideration was given to guests at the hotel who had paid good money to sleep there. The second night was slightly better till we were woken up at 2 in the morning by party goers returning from a night out. They delightfully chose to bang loudly on our door to ensure that they had well and truely woken us up. the third night night was better although the rooms were so hot and with no air conditioning it was still difficult to sleep.
Other issues included the fact that the room was still being cleaned when we arrived despite the fact that reception had sent us up to the room, toilet paper was cheap and hard and as it did not fit on the toilet roll holder was positioned directly behind you making it difficult to access. The room where breakfast was served was basically a sports bar and the floor was very sticky and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly after the festivities the night before. At breakfast, I watched a pile of plates being carried in on a waiters shoulder, with the face of the top plate pressed against the side of his head, he did not wipe the plate and needless to say I was careful not to select this plate to put my food on. We also had to sidestep emptyand half full bottles and glasses on our way to our room.
On the plus side, the hotel is very convenient to the city centre, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Mid week ask for room at the back, anyother time prepare to be kept awake
