“Great Cheap Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2011

This was a great hotel for the money. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff are very courteous. The only issue is the location. There are no restaurants within walking distance; therefore, you are confined to the hotel's cafe (which was actually very good, just very expensive).

If you are traveling by bus from the airport, first make sure that you buy the all-inclusive bus pass which lets you use any Dublin Bus transports to include the Hop-on/Hop-off tours in the heart of the city. Make sure that you take the 747 into town, then you have to find the 51B which is no where near the place that you will be dropped off. The stop is by the movie theater on Hawkins Street. Again, if you plan on taking the bus, remember this as we were lost for a bit. Finally, tell the bus driver where you are going and he'll drop you off by the hotel (its a good 20 to 30 minute ride from Dublin with all the stops).

The only thing that would make this hotel any better is a direct shuttle from the airport to the hotel...I know that I would have paid for the service.

ibis dublin is a bit out of town, but very closely located to the tram stop that will take you there (about a 20min journey). bed was great, and a wide selection of channels was appreciated, although the bathroom could do with a bit of an update!
staff were friendly, let us check in 3 hrs early.

I spent at the hotel two nights and I found it was pretty much comfortable and attention was nice and worm. The guy at the reception gave us instructions on how to go to the Temple Bar a map and even recommended a bar there.
The tram station is at 10 minutes walking (if there is no ice in the streets) and seems to be a quiet zone.
