“Great place Great Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2010

This Hotel is a great place to stay at an ecellent price for Dublin. It's located a short distance from the Transit train that will take 20 minutes down to the center of Dublin (buy a pass for the time your there) . The staff are friendly.d. The hotel clean and appaers to be designed by IKEA.

My team and I very much appreciate your kind words, and we are glad to have been part of your great stay in Ibis Dublin. As you said, the Luas Tram is a real benefit for the hotel (Dublin City Center is at 20 minutes). We hope to see you gain soon.
Kind regards,

Yes it was cheap but forget the furnishings and put in a bed. If the Travel lodge group can guarantee a quality bed at v low cost why can't Ibis? Really we did laugh at the basic 'curtains' but our laughter at the table tennis table for a 'bed' worn thin very quickly. I felt as if i was on a prison cell 'bed'. The 15minute promise advertised ....that the hotel will fix any complaint in 15 minutes....well i hardly imagine a divan was going to appear but evena mattress with springs would have been a huge improvement. My advice avoid this hotel at all costs. In 2010 a disgrace to expect guests to 'sleep' on that hardboard slab. Breakfast was satisfactory.

The hotel is great: great location; friendly and helpful staff; modern and secure, adequate bathrooms and in-room amenities and they even allowed our dog in the room; but, and it's a BIG but, the bed was absolutely awful.

There are many things in a hotel where you can skimp on quality - the bed should never, vere, ever be one of thiose things.

The mattress was about two/three inches thick and you could feel every spring in it, this was placed on top of some not-very-thick MDF - it wasn't even a divan bed. No word of a lie, my back was in bits for the duration of our stay and for a few days afterwards - words cannot describe how bad the beds are.

So please, IBIS Dublin, sort your beds out. You have a great hotel otherwise.

PS: We stayed last December but I've only just discovered TripAdviser.

Its funny how things work out. I needed to visit family in Dublin 4, but the Michael Buble concert meant that all D4 hotels were booked out. I therefore had to look at places much further away. The Ibis turned out to be a very good choice.

Pros: Pets are welcome. Its new, safe (the surrounding area appears to be quiet and safe) and cheap. The public areas are very clean and tidy. Breakfast were great (hot and cold food ws faultless). Staff were also very nice and hard working. The hotel was busy, but the absence of rowdy weekend stag parties was a fantastic bonus (no early morning interruptions). The roadworks are finished at the red cow roundabout. The area is now tidy. It was fairly easy to get to the tram stop by taking a bridge that goes over the M50 (10 min. walk). The tram was nice, but takes 45 min to get to O’Connell street. It also goes through mostly rough areas and only till 11pm which is an issue if you are out on the town (the hotel has a nice small bar though so you won’t go thirsty).

Cons: Sound insulation is not great between rooms and sound travels easily along corridors. There’s a chance you may be disturbed by noisy patrons returning to rooms. The windows are very drafty. The single pillow allocated per person wasn't great and I had to ask for a second one on the second night (I'm allergic to dust and don't tend to use the stores spare pillows provided in rooms). This was given out without any problems and really helped me get a good nights sleep.

We travel to dublin quite a bit to show our dog and we have found the Ibis to be outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have never once had a bad stay and we stay on average twice a month. The fact that we can have the dog in the room for only an extra 5 euro in a huge plus for us. The rooms are always spotless and and well maintained. The food is beautiful and the service first class. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and I would rank the Ibis right up there with any of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in. I would like to thank all the staff who have made each stay a pleasent one and we look forward to staying again soon.

Ibis is located close to Luis line so ideal for visiting Dublin and surrounding area.
Room was extremely quiet considering proximity to road, very clean and well-maintained.
Staff were attentive and extremely pleasant, from the reception staff, chamber maids and restaurant staff. Food was very good, breakfast was exceptional with freshly baked croissants and great selection of fruits, eggs etc.
We had a great three night stay and would visit again when we return to Dublin
