The staff at the Arlington could not do enough for us. We asked for a non-smoking room and quiet and got both. Had a massive bed. Breakfast was fab, even though renovations were taking place, still got great service. In the bar on the evening the waitress did everything for us and we had a lovely meal and finally an ice cold bottle of wine, entertainment was excellent and staff were very attentive. Carmel rules the roost in the restaurant for breakfast, but all the staff respect her. She is welcoming and talks to you, like she has known you forever. She makes sure that everyone is seen to quickly and makes sure that tea and coffee flow all the time. I certainly recommend this hotel and would go back again. It is an ideal location right on the River Iffey

We stayed there for two nights. It was a beautiful experience. The guys at the reception were very kind. the room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good even if it could be better... The position is excelent... 2 minutes walk to all the faciities. We enjoyed very much the stay. We'll be back the next time we'll be in Dublin.

  • Liked — The position... Really centrally located
  • Disliked — Breakfast.

I booked this hotel about a month ago, then came online before I went, read the most recent bad reviews and became rather worried!

However, turns out my worrying was for nothing!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights and had no problems whatsoever.

When we walked in we were instantly impressed. The decor was medieval and not shabby in the slightest as I've seen it described on here. The bar was huge and tealights illuminated the entire bar/seating area making it quite pretty.

Our room was on the 4th floor, spacious, clean and recently refurbished. Lots of storage space, nice bathroom...no complaints there.

The staff were very friendly and helped with all our needs.
One of the waitresses in the morning was especially friendly and helped us plan our day to the south coast - (we went to Bray and Greystones and had a great time)

We only stayed for breakfast but the food was also good, full irish, fruit, cereal, juice, tea/coffee etc. What you expect from a buffet breakfast.

I would reccomend this hotel, but say that perhaps if you want it to be quieter, stay midweek, if you're there for the pubs and lively , loud atmosphere, stay over the weekend. As we stayed a tuesday and wednesday, nothing noisy after 12 o'clock, but we saw some of the entertainment at 9pm on wednesday which had a real buzzing atmosphere :)

The hotel location is excellent, really just a few steps from
the O'Connel Bridge.
Rooms are a good size with a huge kingsize bed.
Bathroom with tube & shower, good size.
It's really worth to book the irish dance with dinner. - It's
absolutly excellent. We really enjoyed it.
The hotel a very good baggadge store service. So you don't
need to worry about your lagguage.
Only be sure, if you are a non smoker - you have to ask for
an non smoker room.

Stayed here for 3 nights, was in Dublin to do some exams so just wanted a basic, no frills hotel near the exam centre. I asked for a quiet room and thankfully was placed on 4th floor in one of the new rooms which was small but nice. However the window was not that well double glazed so I could hear a fan outside going the whole night as well as music from the band downstairs. Breakfast in the morning was fine. The restaurant is an absolute joke. I had dinner included but only ate one evening - this was an "experience". It took 25 mins for the waiter to take my order, I waited another 20 mins for the starter ( and the restaurant was not busy), another 15 mins after that for the main course and after I had finished that and waited another 15mins and asked 3 times for my dessert and still hadn't received it, I gave up and walked out. I was not the only one either!

This is a perfect hotel for hens and stags as it is so close to Temple Bar, but definetely not for a business trip or a romantic break!
