Lovely rooms& grounds.overall a lovely stay with staff v helpful.downside is the food in the resteraunt being v poor and the bar a long wait for very ordinary food.bedrooms very well decorated and v comfy bed.not ideal hotel for families as no leisure facilities etc...but more suited to a couple/business.need a car as not central.

Stayed for 2 nights on business and I was very impressed by this great hotel. Checked in and was made very welcome by the staff.
My room was superb with everything you could want, large comfortable bed with great pillows, flat screen TV, mini bar, free wi fi (very easy to connect), robes, etc.
Had a bar meal with a collegue and it was superb as was the guiness.
Second night we ate in the restaurant and the food, wine and service was 1st class. Try the rissotto as a starter and a fillet steak 10/10.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great hotel with excellent service and fine food.

This was a wonderful hotel and one that was a pleasure to return to each night after a day of exploring Ireland. I took my daughter to Ireland for her 16th birthday. We pulled up to the hotel at 6:00 am after a long flight from the states. We arrived ( our luggage did not ) tired but excited. My first impression...nice, my daughters first impression......WOW !!!!! The hotel is impressive but I was more impressed with the staff. Arriving as early as we did, our room was not ready. Seeing how badly we needed to stretch out ( and seeing that our luggage had yet to finish it's voyage ) they allowed us to relax in a different room while waiting for ours. We were able to shower and take a nap before we had to go shopping for clothes as ours would not arrive for two days, but back to the hotel. The rooms were large, well appointed and comfortable. Water pressure was top notch. Housekeeping was a let down but nothing we could'nt live with. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay outside of downtown Dublin but close enough to get to the Temple Bar District in only a few minutes. I would book into this hotel again without hesitation.

We stayed in the hotel for Valentine's and got a suite with balconey, what a treat! From the gorgeous bathrobes and slippers, to the beautiful goodies in the bathroom, the Nespresso coffee machine and the Butler's chocolate, it was a real treat! When we arrived we noticed it was a bit cold so we tried to work the heating but couldn't manage it, so we called reception who sent us Peter. He was very helpful and friendly but couldn't work the heating either! He tried to change us room but it was full, so he brought us a portable heater which did the job beautifully! The room was nice and warm and very comfortable. Funny enough we stayed also on the same hotel 2 weeks previously and the same problem arose, which was fixed in no time...they changed us room very efficiently, and Christopher couldn't do enough for us, changing himself our bags to the new room while we were having dinner in the restaurant Talavera. Beautiful restaurant, excellent choice, generous portions, and excellent quality of the food. Breakfast is always fantastic there, and we love it, you can find any food really you like, and when you ask for something, they are always pleased to help you. We also ate in the bar, and the food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. The waiters are very friendly and always have time for a little chat. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Also the car park is closed at night, and the bus to town (25 minutes) is just across the hotel, and on the way back to the hotel, just at the gates of the hotel. We can't wait to go back!

Stayed here with my girlfriend during the rugby match in early feb. Was the GF's choice but she couldn't have booked a better place. Hotel staff were very friendly, even as we arrived 4 hours before check in! The hotel itself is a beautiful grand old house with magnificant gardens at the back, which our room overlooked. Rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. All the staff we encountered were very courtious, we spent most the time in the Orangery bar - always packed The barmen Gavin and Gabor were excellent in looking after us, and seemed in competition as to who makes a better bloody mary! Food here was also good. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent, with a huge array of choice, great before the game. Surely will return if in Dublin again.

Room Tip: Try ask for a room overlooking the back gardens!
