“Second Stay - Great hotel for Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Stayed here for a second time for one night whilst working in Dublin, room good size and comfortable, price very good and good location.

Staff friendly and accommodating, food was good.

Only let down was internet access, on and off all of the time dropping my work link which was frustrating.

Dear mandr268,

Thank you for your review. It is great to read that you have seen the improvements that we continue to make in our hotel.

The river view rooms can be a little noisy if the window is open, but the views are excellent. We do have quieter rooms located at the back of the hotel and we could offer you one of these on your next visit.

Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Kind regards
Patrick

My fiance and I stayed in this hotel in the middle of March as we were going to a concert in the Olympia Theatre. On the same night, there was another concert in the O2 in which the majority of the guests in the hotel seemed to be attending, On our floor however, they were particularly rowdy. The walls in the rooms are quite thin so we could hear everything going on in the other rooms beside us. The laughing and the talking weren't the most annoying part (let's face it, we all talk and we all laugh, no point in being a damp squib all the time) but, the constant knocking and slamming of doors was very annoying. In saying that, we did get a good night sleep in a comfy bed within a nice room.

Food in the bar was nice although, if you are looking to use WIFI in the hotel, you'll have to pay for it. Majority of hotels these days compliment their guests with free WIFI so it would be good if that was sorted out. All in all, those are the only negatives. Cleanliness, staff, food and hotel decor are of an excellent standard. The hotel is also in a very good location and within minutes walk of train & bus station and also the city centre (O'Connel Street). Will stay again in future.

We stayed at Jurys in from Friday 21st until Monday 24th.

We understood our check in wasn't until 2pm, however we landed at 9am and got to the hotel for 10am, we were expecting to just make them aware we were here and leave our luggage somewhere safe and go for a walk whilst waiting for check in.
We were a group of 4, with 2 double rooms, the receptionist asked if we wanted rooms together or separate, we asked for separate, to which she replied they are ready now, 4 hours early.
This was a great help.

Upon arrival of our room 411 it was a spacious room with a double bed and a single bed. Room 411 is on one of the top floors, and as we were the end room we were luckily enough to have two windows, one across the river liffey, another looking down the road into the city centre (Custom House Quay)- this was amazing in the evening with all the street lights and river lit up.
The 2nd room for our group was room 326, this was a little lower in the building and only had one window which looked over the liffey but the view was obstructed by a building.
Custom House Quay is a very busy main road, however we did not hear the traffic once. My advice would be to see if you could request a room overlooking the river and as high as possible.

One thing I wished I knew before setting off to travel was that this hotel supplied a full size hairdryer, tea, coffee and a kettle, shower gel and 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner.
I didn't use the shampoo and conditioner but if you were there just for a short stay or didn't mind what you use, this would definitely be a help and take a weight off your shoulders regarding liquids in hand luggage etc.

We booked via BOOKING.COM and we opted to have breakfast with our stay, the breakfast on weekends is 7am-11am and weekdays 7am-10am. The breakfast is full continental with juice, tea, coffee, bagels and the full works which is an open buffet to help yourself. Definitely worth booking the breakfast as it sets you up for the day and also you wont find much better in the city. I did overhear that if you didn't pay for breakfast with your booking it was just over €10 each per day.

During our stay we paid €18 each for a green bus hop on hop off Dublin tour, this was a 2 day pass and we used this a lot to get to our chosen places around the city.
We went to:
Guinness Storehouse - €16.50 per adult - very busy and would not recommend.
Kilmainham Gaol - €6 per adult - fantastic visit and very interesting - only lasts around an hour.

We paid for the green open top bus - it was a 2 day pass and was €18.00 each for the 2 days, we actually picked up the leaflet for this bus in the reception area by the lifts.
This was brilliant as it got us all over Dublin and we could hop on hop off at any of their stops around Dublin and also taught us a lot about the city and sights

Overall I would definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin.

Room Tip: Ask to be facing the river, and the higher the better. Room 411 has double veiws (2 windows)

Stayed for two nights. The hotel is on the river away from the town centre in the commercial quarter. A few restaurants nearby mainly catering for business people during the day so less choice at night.

The hotel has a bar and restaurant. Good atmosphere although the bar menu and for that matter the restaurant menu are uninspiring.

Breakfast if okay. Porridge available to order. Poached eggs would have been nice.

Generally clean and modern bedrooms with good choice of TV channels.

This hotel is very convenient for the City Centre with the tram stop at the back entrance. The room was fine, bright, spacious and very clean. The food was very good and good value. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and helpful particularly Lorraine in the Bar and Lenka and Sarah in Reception. All in all a very good hotel!

I stayed here for 3 nights and would recommend it to anyone. It was quite roomy, very clean and easy to find.

This motel was booked through my travel agent as a medium priced place to stay. I highly recommend including the buffet breakfast as it was always good and a great way to start the day. I'm big on coffee and the coffee was good!

It's about a 15 minute walk to O'Connell Street or Temple Bar and bus stops are almost on the motel doorstep.

It was quite cold when I was in Dublin, so being able to come back to my room with a great hot shower was most welcome.

I didn't go to the restaurant but the prices seemed average as compared to others around the city. I did order room service my first night and was charged 4 euros as a tray fee - so be warned.

Overall, a great place to stay.
