“A new paint job”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

My previous visit here was good. This time the corridors and rooms had been painted but there was still the lingering smell of fresh paint and in my opinion the paint finish quality was poor. The room was Ok but not great.

The front desk staff were helpful and the room price was cheap for a capital city. The breakfast was very adequate. The toast machine gave off a lot of heat and we felt more comfortable sitting on the other side of the room.

Almost everything in Dublin city is within walking distance, but I would recommend this hotel only for a one or two night stay.

Walking distance to city centre.
No heating during cold nights ( temp 2 degrees )but was given a plug in heater.
Breakfast, same old Irish fry type, disappointing.
No fish.
Bedroom was comfortable except being cold.

I have visited the Jury's Inn twice in the last year. The first time, I was on my motorcycle, and the staff were able to direct me to free parking in a secure location. I was also given a ground floor room at my request, which was so convenient, I requested the same room for the second visit.

The staff, a mixture of local and European workers are very obliging, and happy to arrange additional facilities like an ironing board! The location is great for wandering, and enjoying the Dublin experience. I am not fussed on Temple Bar, but the rest of Dublin is great. The Dublin Castle is just a few hundred metres away and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to ask for what suits you.

The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. It was a good location, within walking distance to temple bar and the shopping areas.

The room had no AC so this meant we had to keep the window open and with Christchurch cathedral ringing it's bells every 15 minutes even at night it meant for disturbed sleep.

The bar was pricey and the food wasn't the best, it wasn't bad but it didn't seem worth the price. The breakfast buffet was excellent and well worth the very cheap price.

The staff were either very friendly or completely uninterested, it depends who you get.

The location of this hotel was great! It is right around the corner from the Brazen Head pub which is the oldest in Ireland. It is across the street from Christ Church Cathedral of which we had view of from our room. Many things to see were within walking distance. Navigating back to the airport from our hotel was very easy. We took a taxi from the hotel to the Guinness Storehouse for the tour and the cost of the taxi was about 6 Euro ($8). We opted for a horse and buggy on the return trip and had him drop us off at the Brazen Head Pub which cost 20 euro. The buggy driver was very funny and told us the history of the buildings we past as we made out way to the pub near the hotel. The room itself was average. Clean. The mattresses were not comfortable. Maybe I am used to a pillowtop at home and that is why it felt very hard. The bathtub shower combo was a bit high to step in and out of. Parking is behind the hotel in a paid parking garage. It is not free. We were there less than 24hrs and it cost us 15 Euro even with the so-called discount validation from the hotel.

Room Tip: If you get a room overlooking Christ Church Cathedral, although beautiful the ringing of the bells e...

ben three times now, last time we had 10 rooms, good service friendly and happy staff, rooms ideal for the odd night. Location close to Temple bar, Castle, Grafton St and the River, have not eaten here as too many nice places in town and some good breakfast to be had just around the corner
