The location of the Morrison is perfect for south of the Liffey and for Temple Bar though I have to say that on a friday and saturday nights just before Christmas that also meant that the area was jam-packed with drunks and vomit etc. I didn't particularly mind this (atmospheric!) but my wife found it a bit rough. I think next time we might stay in the slightly posher area around St Stephens square. The hotel itself as others have said is very trendy and the decor is excellent. Our room was not massive but had all necessary gadgets and a very comfy bed. Bathroom good though the plug in the bath didn't really work which was a bit annoying especially as it was so cold outside that a proper bath would have been quite welcome. The bar on the ground floor is a good place to drink and is obviously very trendy which means that both nights we returned from dinner there was barely room to stand. After midnight though when non-residents can't get served it gets a bit more chilled. We booked this hotel through Mr and Mrs Smith which means that breakfast is included though we did have a bit of trouble explaining this to the reception staff. The breakfast itself is a tasty buffet - good but not amazing. Overall the staff were very polite and friendly though I didn't find the concierge that helpful. I realised once we'd arrived that restaurants in Dublin get booked up very very early and so I asked advice for where to go. Unfortunately the concierge basically just told me that I was more or less screwed! Luckily I had a bit of a try on my own and rang round a fair few before getting tables at the trendy Diep thai restaurant a short taxi ride away and on the Friday night at 101 Talbot. Both very good, shame concierge hadn't a clue.
