“Perfect location, spotless rooms, great value, excellent staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2009

I stayed at the Days Inn Talbot Street for four nights in September on a trip to Dublin to celebrate a friends birthday. I could not fault the excellent location, just off O'Connell Street which is the main throughfare in the city and within 5 minutes of Temple Bar. It proved to be a great base for our weekend, and handy too when we decided on a trip to the seaside - the dart station was just 5 minutes walk away. A trip out of the city is well worth it during a stay.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful throughout and really made our stay comfortable - they were a credit to the hotel. The breakfast each morning was included within our rate and gave us a great start to the day, even if it was not included it would have been well worth the cost at 8.50 euro which is a bit of a steal in Dublin (I have had to pay up to 20 euro for a breakfast before!).

The bedrooms were small but perfect for providing a base for our stay, and they were spotlessley clean. The room overlooked Talbot street which is a busy street during the day and can be a little noisy at night, but it did not affect us too much and rooms were available at the back of the hotel if we had wanted. I know my friends also appreciated being asked if they wanted a smoking room on arrival.

In all I couldn't fault our stay and it was great to return to Dublin. We were also fortunate enough to grab some great deals in the restaurants in Temple Bar on the Thursday and Sunday nights in addition to the usual early bird deals. This really helped us save our pennies!

its 6am in the morning, staying in the hotel now and can't sleep because the pillow is like stone hard. it feels like you fold up ur jeans and pretend its a pillow. The pillow is very old with obvisous marks and honestly the beding is just OLD. there is only 1 bed sheet covering the bed and not covering it very well, i found few hairs under the bed sheet, pillow area, wish i didnt notice it. The bed is ok, average comfort.
The shower is specially design for Drawf use, so if you are bigger than a Drawf, u will find it hard to shower, whenever you move your hands or arms, you will hit the wall or the door. (seriously, ppl consider that im small)
some minor thg, the shower control was broken, the water pressure is low, im staying on 3rd floor. fixed shower head. Other than that, everythg is fine and working perfectly.
** Location is great, everythg is near by. nice area. tesco is cross the road, within 1 min walk u will find a shop, if u need anythg at night. pharmacy just few steps away.

Parking is free, there are 5 parking space. internet is free, but every 15 mins, it force you to reconnect and shows their advertisment,

I had read some other TripAdvisor reviews and was slightly hesitant to book here, but the price and location got me! We stayed here in June 2009 and paid 60 euro per night, great deal in Dublin. Upon arrival we took the elevator to our room, the hallways had delayed lighting which startled me at first. The room itself was small, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was decent. It does get loud at night and there were some loud guests in the hotel, but we didn't mind since we are 20-somethings who stay out late anyway. However, I can see how this might bother others. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in giving us tips about tours or restaurants. I really liked that it was on a pedestrian only street with lots of shopping and we could walk Everywhere we wanted to go!!

My wife and I stayed at Days Inn Talbot Street for 4 nights in August 2009. The location was great, very close to O'Connell St, about a 10 minute walk to Temple Bar and Trinity College. The rooms were nothing special, very small and I agree with a few other reviews regarding the cleanliness of carpets etc but for the price we paid and location you can't complain.

We had a room facing Talbot St and it could get a bit noisy during the night with passersby and we needed to keep the window open as the room was very warm and no air-con. The breakfast that was provided was well worth the price alone, and we always found the staff to be helpful and friendly.

Considering Dublin is a very expensive place to visit, having cheap accommodation is always a plus and overall the price was well worth the location, breakfast and room. If you are looking for a well priced hotel in a great location in Dublin then Days Inn is worth checking out. My wife and I would stay here again.

We have just come back from a stay at the Days Inn hotel, Talbot street, Dublin. Having read some reports we were a bit dubious about it, but we were pleasantly suprised. The rooms were a basic size we have stayed in smaller at much more expensive hotels. We did have a room at the front on the main street but found the noise did not bother us at all. The room was clean except for superficial marks on the carpet which is to be expected and the staff friendly. The maid came in and tidied each day. The sheets and towels where clean. We cannot comment on the breakfast as we sent room only. The only thing we did notice was how hot it was in the room. We stayed mid week so it may be different at weekends It is brilliantly located near all amenities. Just a 5 mins walk to Temple Bar. There are lots of shops. Just be aware it is very expensive not just for drinks but food and shopping as well. We can recommend doing the free Tour Walk our guide Ronan was great and doing the Dublin pub crawl. Overall a very good break if not a little expensive.

This hotel was really good - I would certainly go back. The rooms were basic, but clean and in a great location. It was only a short walk to the Temple Bar area and the shops were closeby too. The taxi driver recommended a bar in Talbot Street - The Celt - it was brilliant and much cheaper than the Temple Bar area. The hotel staff were fantastic - very helpful indeed. If you are like us and needed a clean room close to the bars of Dublin and not expensive this is ideal.

Even though Talbot Street is very central, this hotel was very dirty. We requested non-smoking rooms and they gave us smoking rooms, even though we complained. The rooms was tiny and outside the window ledge it was full of cigarette stubs. It was terrible. The carpent down the corridor on our floor smelled. It was really bad!
