After 3 days of pub food, it was so nice to stumble across Urban Picnic. Not a potato on the menu :-)
The restaurant is fresh and cheery with wooden picnic style tables. And it smells oh so good. The soup of the day looked fabulous, but they sold the last bowl just before I ordered. So I got the risotto and my wife had the penne pasta. Both were absolutely delicious. It tasted like high-end restaurant food but was very affordable. You can tell the chef is professionally trained.
After lunch we had a cup of coffee and the homemade chocolate torte. All the breads and desserts are made in the restaurant. The coffee was served with a nice little cookie and the torte was absolutely delicious.
If you are looking for a respite from pub food, you should absolutely go here.
