“Best meal in years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

This was without doubt, the most delicious duck I've ever had. Cost only €12 great value for a meal like this. Restaurant is just stunning, staff were curteous and very friendly, had a great chat with the man serving the food! And the duck was simply amazing. I'm a student but i'm saving my pennies and will definitely be back as soon as possible. Best meal I've bought in years honestly.

“Soup and Scone!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We ate lunch here every day we were in Dublin. The food quality cannot be surpassed and it delicious too! Because it was so cold while we were visiting Dublin, soup was just the thing for lunch. We had everything from chicken stew, fish chowder, beef and vegetable soup, to sweet potato soup. Each one was delicious. Soup is served with bread of your choice, making it the perfect lunch for me, as well as good value.
We completed each of our lunches with tea and the best scones in all of Ireland.

“We ate here every morning that we were in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

I absolutely adored this restaurant/shopping experience all wrapped up into one! The downstairs has lovely boutique type shopping and on the 2nd floor is the cafe. How nice it was to select my scone and Farmer's breakfast each morning with eggs creme fresh, bacon, sausage and a potato cake of some sort each day. You select 4 items and your coffee or tea for 5 euros plus a delicious assortment of butters and jams. The food is good and hearty without being "too much" and the price cannot be beat. The staff is also very friendly and accomodating and one of the morningings we also had the treat of a jazz quartet playing while we ate. It's located in a nice central Dublin location across from the Trinity college area. Stop in, you won't be disappointed!

“The place for breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We just spotted the sign, 4 items plus tea or coffer and toast for 5 euros, thought can't go wrong with that and we didn't. Good system going for choosing, hot food, hot plates, food covers on top. Staff were friendly, food was very good, scrambled eggs especially. Two rounds of toast not just one, with butter and jam or marmalade if wanted. It looked like deli lunch would be good and the range of cakes and pastries, mmmmmm.
I'd recommend to anyone staying in a nearby hotel without breakfast included, try here first.

“What a difference a year makes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Just been back to the Kilkenny Cafe on Nassau Street for the first time in months. Undoubtedly a good central place to meet, and I love having coffee looking out into the grounds of Trinity College, but always came away resenting the high prices. Very pleasantly surprised recently, they appear to have dropped their prices. While queuing I noticed how really pleasant and helpful the staff were: despite it being quite busy, a helping hand was immediately offered to anyone with a full tray, and there were smiles and chat for everyone from the cashier and from the man carrying your tray. Would give it 6 stars now if I could!
