“Authentic and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

We had a voucher for two courses for two for ten euro and reading some of the reviews were not expecting great things . We were however pleasantly suprised an unpromising frontage/entrance lead to a pleasing and cosy interior (although only three groups in when we visited on a wet late lunchtime). the food had the authentic and fresh flavours of indonesian/malaysian food, we had the soup and the curry/ rendang fiery and delicious ! Service was attentive and pleasant we were well pleased :)

“Amazing food, excellent value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

We can't get Malaysian food in our area, so always make a point to try for some when we travel. Nyonya's in Dublin cured our craving deliciously! We were attracted by the specials board: 2 starters, 2 entrees, bottle of wine for 48 euros. A good deal, yes, but with this spectactular food, cannot be beat!

We saw locals who were Asian eating there, always a good sign! The staff--at least two different people waited on us--was very friendly. However, they did not seem to have a good idea of exactly what we could order based on the 2 starter/entree special, so they allowed us to order anything off the menu! Not sure if that was their policy, but they allowed us to do it, so we weren't going to complain! They were extremely patient with us (four adults) as we lingered over the meal and enjoyed our evening.

Four of us each ordered starters and entrees and shared around the table. We were spoiled for all the delicious foods that surrounded us...hot pots, seafood, veggies and rice! We all ate every bit and toddled out stuffed with all that wonderful food! A great evening indeed!

Visit Nyonya, you will not be disappointed!

“Bad service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

I came to Nyonya with my husband after buying Groupon Voucher. When we arrived for lunch, the restaurant itself is very dark. The waiter seemed not to be bothered with us that much since we are on the Groupon voucher. The service was slow and the portion of the starter was very little, which I think this has to do with the fact that we are on the Groupon voucher, but for me, this should be mentioned when they advertised it in Groupon as we are not there to taste the food, but to eat. I don't recommend anyone who has passions for Malaysian food to go there again, especially, for you to expect a good Malaysian hospitality. This will never happens!

“real malaysian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

Went to the restaurant for lunch and dinner, with malaysian friends, who spoke the local language, and food arrived which was different to the menu, and was excellent, well cooked and plentiful. The decor inside is not marvellous, but its clean and specialise in malaysian food.

“Excellent food, service, lovely experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

My wife and I have now visited Nyonya twice, on two separate trips to Dublin. They serve some of the best Malaysian food available outside Malaysia. I suspect that its authenticity is part of why some of the reviewers on this site have been troubled by it. However, if you enjoy Malaysian food/approach this with an open mind (ie not expecting Thai or Chinese food) then I am sure you will have a great experience.

Service is polite and speedy. The only thing I can't understand is why the lights are always so dim, which makes you doubt the 'open' sign on the door.
