“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Excellent stay, room had view of Christchurch Cathedral. Very tidy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring Temple Bar without being in the heart of it. Quick walk to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, and only about 15 minute walk to Guinness Storehouse. Airlink bus stop was literally right around the corner from the entrance to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I stayed in 204, which had a view of Christchurch. It was pretty quiet.

This hotel is in a great location - across the street from Christ Church Cathedral and within walking distance of the Guiness Brewery, Kilmainham Gaol, Trinity College, and the Temple Bar area (including Stag Head's Pub) - and provides discount parking in a public parking lot across the road. We found this hotel to be a great value for its location and as a place to grab a few hours sleep. But, this is definitely a no frills hotel. The beds were adequate, but not comfortable. The bathroom was shower only with flimsy curtains that led to the entire bathroom getting wet when someone showered. A shining point for the hotel is its staff, who were extremely friendly and helpful, even making various local phone calls for us to get a dinner reservation late on a Saturday night.

My daughter and I visited Dublin this June. This hotel was in a very convenient location to catch a bus or meet for tours. Temple Bar is very close. The room was clean and spacious. The only drawback was that our room faced the alley and we could hear voices late into the night and the room was warm with only a fan to circulate the air. The staff was friendly and helpful, so there were more pluses than negatives to our trip there.

Read reviews on Trip Advisor prior to booking and had some trepidation around concerns of noise but many other positive reviews, convenient location and great price won out. Our room was on 5th floor, very clean and comfortable. We did hear some street noise (it's a vibrant town on Saturday night) but we closed the window and put on the A/C for a little white noise and to circulate the air. Slept like a baby. The restaurant off the lobby had great breakfast to boot.

This will definitely be home base for future visits to Dublin.

We were traveling with our moms, and had the opportunity to stay at the Harding Hotel in Dublin for three nights at the beginning of our trip. It's a great location, easy walking distance to many restaurants, pubs and shopping. We dinned in their restaurant on our first day in Dublin, great experience, good food and service. The hotel is clean, and staff very helpful. Christ's Church is across the street and yes the bells chime all night, but not really loudly. I personally did not hear them, but my mother did. There is a small pub on the ground level, lively in the evenings, we were on the second floor, and the noise did not bother us. Due to the proxomity of Temple Bar, there are people walking in this area all night long. It's a clean, great location, rooms have older fixtures, but well kept. The key word is "location"....Dublin is a walking city.

Room Tip: Something away from the street is good or on a higher floor.

First of all this hotel is a little older and not updated but it has character, is very clean and has a wonderful staff! I wish i had gotten some of their names. We were checked in and out very fast. They even printed out our boarding passes for me and walked me outside the hotel to show me exactly where to catch the bus to the airport. If we get back to Dublin we will certainly stay at the Harding again. The location is so close to the Temple bar area and a short walk to everything else.

Dear Illinirog70,

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review of the Harding Hotel following your recent visit to Dublin - we are very grateful for your kind words and are so pleased that you enjoyed your time spent in the Harding so much.

It was certainly our pleasure to have accommodated you and I'm delighted that you felt that the hotel staff gave you a good Irish welcome and that you felt that you were looked after well.
I do try to make sure that all guests know exactly where the bus stop etc. back to the airport is as they have enough to stress about with regards air transport these days.
The bus stop is literally just around the corner from the hotel so from my point of view it is only a minor effort to show guests so they are sure where they are going etc. but if it helps make life easier for the Harding guests then it is more than worth it.

We are very lucky to be located in the Old City area of Dublin and our building does have plenty of character but is still so close to all of the main attractions, shopping areas and main social hubs that you are only a few minutes walk from everywhere all the while on a quieter side street that many city center hotels.

I hope that we will be able to welcome you once again to the Harding Hotel in the near future and feel free to contact the hotel directly to arrange on info@hardinghotel.ie
