“Girls weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

I stayed here with 8 other girls aged 19-21 and we thought it was perfect for a city break. Its located on a corner just tucked away from the noise but just a quick 5 minute walk gets you to plenty of action. (Temple Bar)

The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were happy to answer any questions.

The only negative is the bathroom - the floor flooded really easily when taking a shower. Other than that the rooms and facilities were great value for money.

Would definitely recommend - the breakfast was lovely too. Will definitely be back next time we head to Dublin!

The hotel was very centrally located. From the front door, I was able to walk to Temple Bar and Grafton Street within minutes. The room was small but for the price, I can't complain. The staff were very helpful and made my stay comfortable.

The only negative is that on Friday nights, the bells of Christchurch Cathedral seem to go off every 5 minutes at night (as opposed to every 30). You do get used to it though, unless you are a very light sleeper.

There is free wifi but really, it's only fast enough for reading email and checking Facebook. If you're trying to upload faction photos, it's very slow.

I believe you get what you pay for. Harding Hotel is no different. Looking back, I felt the hotel's description and reviews of other travelers adequately described my experience. Some focus on the positives and others dwelled on the negatives. While I am not privied to their situation, i could relate to some negative aspects, but i felt the negatives weren't in my case a big deal. For me, it was a place to sleep at night. I would like to disclaim that I stayed during a time when I did not need heat or air-conditioning. The noise from the lively ground floor pub or the church bells across the street did not bother me even sleeping with a window open. Room was small but no more so than the typical European room. En suite bathroom was good but needed an update. Hotel was near other restaurants (not to mention the hotel's own pub and bistro), shops, and public transportation, and a five minute walk put me on the outskirts of tourist areas. Above all, I am always thankful to stay at a hotel with a nice, friendly and inviting staff. I would consider staying here on a return visit to Ireland and refer friends and family as well.

Good ratings from other travelers on this site helped convince me this was a good choice and I wasn't disappointed. It wasn't the most glamorous place we stayed on our Ireland trip, but it was very cozy. We had a wonderful view of Christ Church cathedral (lots of ringing bells if you don't mind them) and had quick access to walk to all the sights on our agenda. We enjoyed our breakfast at Copper Alley Bistro and our pints & live music from Darky Kelley's bar.
The staff was exceptionally helpful, as many have said before. Our traveling friends actually became very sick and the front desk did everything they possibly could to help them out.

Room Tip: The rooms above the bar patio can get noisy on a busy night, but the rooms facing the church get noi...

Had a two day stay at the Harding, arrived at 10am and very kind receptionist opened tghe luggage room for us to leave our case while we explored. Only a few minutes walk from everywhere! First stop was the Guiness Factory then after a few pints back to the hotel to check in. Rooms were spotlessly clean and ours was very spacious. The room has everything you could possibly need for a short break including a trouser press, iron and hairdryer. The TVs are very dated but as we were only in rooms for short while this didn't spoil our experience. Had a lovely and reasonably priced meal in the Pub attached to the hotel, with a group singing traditional irish music then a short walk to Temple Bar.
Breakfast is served in the adjoining Bistro and again was good value with a full irish with as much juice and tea or cofee as you wanted.
Again the staff on our last day were very helpful watching over our bags while we had a short walk before our flight home.
All in all a very enjoyable stay in one of the friendliest cities in the world!

We spent two nights at the Harding Hotel based on reviews read here and the price of their offerings. We were surprised by the overall friendly attitude and helpfulness of their staff, more what you'd expect at a B&B than a city center hotel. The location is fabulous, with a great number of sights within easy reach by walking and taxis are easy to find for those sights that are not. Previous reviews mention the noise, but we didn't find it to be beyond what is characteristic of a city center hotel. The sound of the bells of Christ Church Cathedral sprinkled with the call of sea gulls enriched our experience . . . ah, Dublin! To top it off, Johnnie, who worked the desk at the time of our arrival, gave us an enthusiastic welcome upon our arrival and worked hard to accommodate us. We very much appreciated his efforts on our behalf. I could easily recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.
