Diwali remains an exceptionally good-value restaurant. The food is good, straightforward Indian and Nepalese cooking, without the overuse of oil and ghee of so many affordable Indians. Their €9. 99 lunch special is outstanding value: a choice of 4 or 5 starters (including 2 chicken-based) and mains that include 2 different lamb dishes and 2 chicken, in addition to vegetable-based ones, with either naan or basmati. If you like lamb, I recommend it here: tender and lean. Poppadums etc are included. The plain boiled basmati is excellent and while there may be a few (very few!) other places in Dublin to rival Diwali for value and quality, I doubt if there is any to surpass it.
