“Beautiful small hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

This hotel seemed more like a house than a hotel , very friendly staff and right beside the Aviva which was brilliant as we where goin to a concert and going home that night was a simple 2 minute walk whilst everyone else was looking taxis or trams ect . The breakfast was lovely and served in the conservatory .
I would recommend staying here if you are going to the Aviva it's a long walk away from all the shops in the centre but just a short drive.
Reason I only gave 3* for the value is because I feel the room we where allocated was not one of the best rooms and we paid £230 for one night which was really expensive . The bed was two pushed together and I seen pictures on here of beautiful rooms which where a lot nicer , we where on the ground floor.
But all in all good experience but if I booked again I'd like a better room .

Have just spent 12 days at this fantastic hotel & cannot praise this hotel highly enough. If you are looking for a quality hotel that truly cares for its clientele, in a great location close to train (Dart) & bus transport, with excellent restaurants & pubs close by then do yourself a favour & stay here. The hotel is lovely but what really makes this place special is its staff!! The staff go out if their way to cater for all your needs & also make you feel very welcome. To cover the basics - the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot & the breakfasts are delicious - and all this comes with a smile.....every single time!!!! This is no ordinary hotel, therefore if you are look for something extraordinary this is the place for you.

We stayed at Butler House for 2 nights the staff were attentive and friendly the rooms were huge with extra length beds and superb bathrooms. the gardens were nothing short of spectacular. this would have been graded EXCELLENT had we not had a bad breakfast experience, management have taken steps to remedy the situation and i have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Butler House.

Room Tip: The garden view rooms are off the road and overlook the magnificent garden

Butler's Town House Hotel is just a short walk from Landsdown Road DART station, and as we arrived a bit earlier than we expected. our room wasn't ready. So we sat down in the delightful lounge with Cecilia, the manager, who explained the tea and coffee making facilities to us; there aren't any in the room, she explained. 'It's our job to make tea and coffee for you, any time, day or night, just ring and we'll bring it to you in your room or in the sitting room. if you're lucky we'll even pour it for you'; and she proceeded to pour!

Butlers is an intimate hotel. Our room on the ground floor was fine. Perhaps not the largest room I've ever had, but the bathroom was large with a bath and a really good shower. It was nice relaxing in the sitting room, using the free wifi and using the honesty bar (good range of whiskey).

Breakfasts were served in the conservatory; usual buffet plus choice from full irish, scrambled eggs and cheese, eggs Benedict, poached haddock with poached egg, french toast and maple syrup - and served really nicely too.

Cecilia and her staff were great; lovely and welcoming, charming and polite. She gave us some good recommendations for placed to visit and eat.

I'd certainly go back, although I may ask for a slightly larger room.

Butler's Townhouse is in an excellent location for a stay in Dublin, as long as you do not mind the walk to city center. The rooms are nicely appointed, and they are very accommodating. We arrived jet lagged from the states, and they made a room available as quickly as possible, well before check in, so we could take a nap before venturing out! Very very hospitable.

Breakfasts are served in a lovely conservatory -- and the food is delicious. They also allow you to bring in non-guests which worked out well for us as our daughter is living in Dublin right now.

We visited Dublin for the Heineken Cup final and chose Butlers Town House on the strength of other reviews here and its proximity to the Aviva stadium. The welcome we received was warm and the service throughout the weekend was second to none. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. I can't recommend the place highly enough and am at a loss to understand the few negative comments made.
