5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2010

My husband and I stayed in Aberdeen Lodge on 26th June 2010 and we were attending a Wedding reception in nearby Pembroke Cricket Club and have to say staff very friendly,
beautiful accomodation and really tasty food - would recommend it to anyone - "real home from home".

Set in a leafy suburb, this is a lovely out of town hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful gardens, welcoming, and providing a sound nights sleep, followed by a delicious Irish breakfast. Conveniently located, only three stops from the local Sydney Parade dart station into the city (and for only £2:50 return). Excellent airport links, coach transfer only 5 min walk from the hotel. The location is perfect, and the sea front is a two minute walk away, offering a beautiful beach walk, to nearby village, Sandymount.

Recently again stayed at this hotel for ashort break. The location is close to a Dart station and only a short walk to numerous hosterlies and good restaurants. We arrived after 8pm after a long days travel, the host,Pat not only booked a local restaurant, Browns, but also ran us down in his own vehicle.
The rooms are quiet and spotless with all the usual amenities but to a very high standard. Breakfast was cooked fresh and accompanied by the usual tea coffee and lots of toast,. a great start to the day.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff,
One guest was overheard to compliment the owner when checking out as he usually stayed at one of the larger chains when in Dublin but was more than pleased that he had made the change, and intended to stay on his frequent trips to Dublin

This quaint hotel is very nice. The service is exceptional, the rooms are very accomodating, and well kept. Every day you can have coffee and or tea served either in your room or down in the library while sitting by the fire. It is a little outside of the "touristy" area- but supposedly near public transportation (we rented a car and just drove ourselves). Excellent overall! HIghly recommended.

I have heard that people become rather home sick when they are visiting other countries, and as this was my first trip overseas I was fully expecting a little myself. But, I was highly mistaken.
As their website boasts, we were welcomed with tea and cookies, our luggage was hauled up the stairs for us and the feeling of home was imparted to us from Pat Halpin and family.
The accommodations are astounding, tea at any time of the day or night, inside or out.
The only minor stipulation is I would not recommend bringing an elder family member in need of an elevator to get up the flights of stairs, as they do not have one.

I totally enjoyed Aberdeen Lodge.
We took the coach from the airport, which is a 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop and had no problems finding the place. The building is a beautiful detached building near a church, a local village, a lovely beach and an easy walk to the DART station. Upon arrival we were immediately taken to the drawing room were we enjoyed a much needed pot of tea and some biscuits/cookies and lots of tourist advice.
The hotel is out of the Dublin city center but there is some charm to its location, which we enjoyed. We used the DART, without too much problem and giving us another opportunity to meet the locals.
Our hotel room was very nice; clean and somewhat luxurious.
Breakfast was delicious with lots of options; we sat near the window overlooking the garden.
Staff was friendly and attentive. Not a negative think to write about. One of my favorite places to stay in Dublin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Aberdeen Lodge. The welcome was very hospitable; the chocolate cookies and tea was ideal after a long journey. For us, the short Dart ride from the city to A L was a bonus as the house is surrounded by quiet leafy residential streets and takes you away from the lively bustle of Dublin.
