Owner description: A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift's remains (he wrote Gulliver's Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

“Couldn't visit during their visiting hours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2010

We arrived within their visiting hours, but they would not let us in to see the cathedral, because they had a service going on soon. It was disappointing.

The outside of the cathedral is impressive and the garden is worth a stroll.

“Nice Gardens, Alright Interior”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2010

I was unimpressed by the inside of St. Patrick's-there wasn't a whole lot to see. The only things that stuck out to me were Jonathan Swift's grave and the door with the hole and both weren't very interesting. However, the gardens were very pretty and a nice place to take a walk through.

“Magnificent Cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2010

The St. Patrick's Cathedral is nothing short of impressive. In addition, there is a number of memorials that have been established in the cathedral. The grounds around the park are very nice. Plan to spend about an hour touring the cathedral.

“Pretty but not worth paying for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2010

This review would totally be different if we didn't have to pay to get into it. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful but I was completely thrown off by the fact it was so expensive to get in to see it. It is your typical cathedral, stained glass windows, historical facts. It doesn't take too long to walk through the entire thing. Based on that I'm giving it an average review.

“Pay to pray”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2010

I had only seen another cathedral in my life that you had to pay to get in and I thought it was something rare, but apparently it's rather common to pay to enter it (even if u go to mass?). Anyway, not a great thing so you can save the money if you are not particularly interested in churches. Oh, there's a great garden behind it which is very nice and free.
