“Smart cookies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This hotel has had an upgrade fairly recently and is a very convenient 15 minute walk to Temple Bar. The breakfast has everything you would expect and to a good standard. Two bars, one more a coffee lounge in the reception area is quiet but the main one is a noisy sports bar. We stayed for St Patricks weekend partly on business and had access to the executive lounge which was relaxing and well stocked if a little under staffed at times What a great hotel though and the cookies on arrival are delicious so take home a tin.

While there are many nice features in the Burlington Road Doubletree, their policy on providing air ventilation based on the level of room is so poor it leaves the recommendation as a thumbs down. After an uncomfortable night in a stuffy, stale room, I checked at the front desk about the ventilation in my room. Strangely, I was asked what floor I was on and then told a fan would be brought to my room. The second night the room was so uncomfortable I could not sleep well and was dripping sweat while dressing. I immediately went to reception. The clerk finally acknowledged there was no ventilation in my room and I would need to upgrade to an executive or deluxe room if I would like air movement. After complaining that air quality should not be a premium service, I was offered a room that did have air conditioning but was available because it was over a construction site and noisy. Should I mention I am a silver level HIlton Honors member? I am wondering how someone who is not an elite Hilton member is treated? Are rooms without ventilation even at health code? The story could continue with the ordeal of how my move was handled, which continued with the same level of customer service. Other than lack of air, the rooms were good sized, had adequate storage and good lightening. Wifi was weak. Breakfast was an uninspired buffet. Lobby lounges were quite nice and suitable for a business drink. Overall, the experience was not to Hilton standards and I cannot recommend a stay.

Room Tip: one with ventilation and no construction!

Stayed here as part of the Irish Tourism awards and was very pleasantly surprised as i had not visited this hotel for around 15 years.
The upgrade is fabulous and the conference facilities were top class. The food was of a very high standard and would certainly stay here again if in the area.
Rooms and beds are very comfortable no complaints at all.

The staff overall 5/5. The rooms clean and immaculate. The bed ultra comfortable.
The issue was noise and malfunctioning loo/toilet.
At 2200 I tried to flush the loo. It came off in my hand. I was in handicapped accessible room. I tried to call the desk and bedside phone did not work. I went back to loo and used yhe phone there - it worked. Called the desk - pickup was after 23 rings - heard line switch over and reported the problem. I was told maintenance would be advised. I said I would get dressed. At 2300, I again caĺled reception and it switched over and told the desk of the problem, that I was tired and how much longer would it be for maintenance. He advised me maintenance went home at 4pm and he would send someone up. The person sent was respectful and considerate. He went and organised a room change. That room was also handicapped accessible but noisy. I could hear the constant sound of waterflow and of air rishing through the vents. To cut down on wind sound, I turned off the climate control and to dull the sound of water - kept the bathroom door shut.
I woke up to sounds from neighbouring room. Rooms have adjacent doors that result in rooms not being sound proofed. The voices were of normal conversational level and of coughing. The lack of sound proofing was in 1st and 2nd room assigned.
I understand the building was upgraded and rennovated last year. I did not get a very good sleep. About 6 hours in total.
I reported issues with the desk in the morning on their Hilton Make It Right.
The rating of 3 is due to lack of sleep; need for soundproofing and of the noise of toilet and ventilation system.
The problem with communication may be relative to English proficiency of some staff.
A positive is that I was able to order reduced portion size from the children's menu.
I am impressed by the staff especially the gentleman who helped me to move from 3rd to 7th floor.
The reception clerk who was awesome on checkin and checkout - who really cares about his customers and their satisfaction.
Note:
When I went to pay my kids meal and spider/float from the night before, he would not accept payment.

We came here for a business trip and from the beginning everything was easy. The location of the hotel is just perfect, not so far from the city center and at the same time not so far from the business area. At our arrival we were welcome with a warm cookie and a smile, the check in took only a couple of minutes and we were at our rooms in no time. The rooms were clean and have everything you might need, hair drier, iron,...and the bed was extremely comfortable. The internet connection was not so fast but it worked in all areas of the hotel. I didn't try the gym but it had all the equipment you need as well. I definitely recommend this Hotel.

Very comfortable hotel a ten minute walk fromSt Stephens Green so a great location for exploring! Ten minutes along the canal also gets you to Grand Canal Basin where you can pick up the Dart and travel down the coast.
We had a king room on the 4th floor and the bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in, plenty of space, excellent shower, complimentary bottles of water and a great TV made it a pleasure to stay. Will definitely stay here when visiting Dublin again.

From the minute we arrived, I felt embraced by the land of 1,000 welcomes. The hotel staff were absolutely delightful and accomodating through every one of the five days we were their guests.

This hotel is extremely well kept and has a lovely gym, bar and Honors lounge. If you are a Hilton Elite member, breakfast is free and delicious, and they host a cocktail receptioin from 5-7 every evening with snacks and nibbles.

For the price, I daresay you would find a better value anywhere else in the city of Dublin. PLUS you are able to walk to lovely restaurants, a supermarket and nightlife.
