“Tour of the Past”

Tour of the house was amazing! The tour guide was very captivating and very knowledgeable. Felt like I was taken back to Georgian days. Learned a whole lot about past times in Dublin.

“A blast of the past”

This is a guided tour on 4 floors of a house as it was lived in centuries ago. Great value for money.

“Living history.....via PowerPoint presentation.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

Having lived in a property of the period that had been converted into flats I was interested to see a house in its original state. The tour starts with a long and tedious PowerPoint presentation on the background of the house and one of the families who lived there. The background provides a context to the tour but multimedia presentations have moved on from the nineties and they really should try harder to make this more interesting and it is largely made up of photos of the houses contents. It is like a trailer for a film that reveals all the best bits and leaves little for the main event. Things get much better when the tour starts, the interiors are nice and the commentry interesting if a little prosaic. In fact that sums up the experience nicely, interesting but prosaic.

Lovely morning of Georgian loveliness (and some horrors)! The tour was reasonably priced and the guide was informative and funny. Tea room and gift shop lovely staff, very relaxexd atmosphere.
