We spent a total of 4 nights at Oaklodge. Teresa is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit salad, cereals, cooked breakfast, toast and real coffee.
Oaklodge is tastefully furnished, a lovely house and in a good location in Dublin.
Oaklodge does match the website pictures-rooms are large and well appointed. The two single rooms do share a bathroom but this is not unusual in a B&B. The beds are comfortable the rooms are beautifully decorated and the hot water is hot
Oaklodge is a 20-25 min walk from the main attractions. We walked in each morning and caught the bus home in the afternoon.
There are a number of dining places within 10 mins of Oaklodge. We tried 'Fast Eddys' (Burgers etc , quite good value and reasonably priced),Balti & Indian restaurant was good but very expensive. We had dinner on 2 nights at Kiely's Pub and were impressed as the food and drink prices are excellent and the Pan fried cod is a must to try.
Overall in Ireland we found restaurant prices expensive, accommodation well priced and car hire exorbitant.
I would like to mention VIP taxis-this is the taxi company Teresa suggests. I left my mobile phone in the taxi from the airport to Oaklodge. I rang about an hour later and the company contacted the driver. He dropped the mobile at Oaklodge the next day!!!
Thank you Teresa we did enjoy our time with you.
