“How convent can it get.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We where taking the morning Ferry back to Liverpool so it made scents to stay at the Dublin Gibson Hotel, its location to the ferry is a half a block away. Parking is not included but is a special rate for hotel guest. On site.
We had booked a suite on the south side of the hotel with a view of the harbor, was very nice.

Room Tip: South rooms have a view of the Harbor.

The hotel is very special. It has a unique, tree house like design over-looking the city and the quays. There is a wow factor when you first get up to the third floor and view the ultra sleek glass, wood and metal design. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they do things that really add to the 'i'm home' feeling. Shaking hands with people who arrive after a long flights is a nice gesture for jet lagged travellers.

Overall, we really like this hotel and the staff but as always, everyone has some room for improvement. These include:

The bed should be more luxurious for a hotel in its price range and style. It would have been nice to have a larger, more luxurious bed.
Check in time is far too late. We arrived from a long flight at 9am. We were told we would probably be able to check in by 10 30am. Long story short, we could not check in until 3pm and we were exhausted. Every time we asked about check in, they made it seem that our room would be ready in 15 minutes when in fact it never was. Being honest up front with customers is better than giving them false hope of getting them into bed earlier than what is possible

Although the Luas is situated outside the door, getting in and out of town takes a few minutes later. That said, it is refreshing to not be in the midst of the city and a good night's sleep is definitely guaranteed.

Would I stay there again? Of course I would. Some of the staff feel like friends after talking to them a few times and the

Room Tip: We stayed in room 601. Although the room was located near the elevator, the room was very quiet all...

Having spent a night in the gibson hotel, I just have to recommend it.
The staff were very friendly, the room was beautifully appointed and the cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel was superb. The food was lovely. We had a drink in the bar and the service and atmosphere were great.

This hotel is a hidden gem in Dublin, just 20 mins from the airport through the tunnel and then the luas at the door, so easy to wander up to the city centre.

I had the best sleep I have had in a long time, the bed was so comfortable.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Dublin.

During our recent holiday in Ireland we stayed twice at the gibson hotel, three nights at the beginning and two nights at the end. This hotel is fantastic in every respect, be it the trendy location in the Docklands with the tram stop and the airport coach right in front, be the friendliness an efficiency of the staff. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is superb.

Special thanks to Mr Evans Felix Sarpong who arranged the prolongation of our second stay and surprised us with some very tasty welcome sweets.

We will definitely chose the gibson hotel again.

Very modern hotel right opposite the O2. A bit outside the Centre but the tram - luas - is right in front of the hotel and takes you to the Centre within 10 minutes, very convienent. Parking is easy in the parking below the hotel.
We had a spacious executive room on the 6th Floor. WiFi works very well in the room, bathroom is spacious as well with a very good shower. Only negative point is that the bed is small and short - no kingsize - and we did not find it very comfortable.
Bar is very modern as well and offers nice meals. Reception was very efficient on check in and check out.
Apart from the low quality of the bed, this hotel is really excellent.

Dear Donkie,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us.

I was so glad to read that you enjoyed so many elements of your stay. Should we have the chance to welcome you back to the gibson, please do not hesitate to request a room with a king size bed- not all our rooms have these, however some of our bedrooms do and we will strive to accommodate your request.

Modern, spacious, clean and welcoming! We think this is Dublin's best hotel despite not being in the city centre it has the Luas outside the front door and is also only a 20 minute walk to the centre. The rooms are fabulous, large with super king beds and well designed bathrooms, the bar and restaurant is great, with superb balcony overlooking Dublin docklands. We will definitely be coming back!
