“Favourite hotel I have ever stayed in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Incredible stay and I didn't want to leave. Large comfy rooms with amazing style. Will definitely be returning in October for Bruno Mars concert. Perfect hotel if you are going to a gig in the o2. Food was amazing staff were helpful and friendly and I cannot say a bad word about it. can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Choose an executive suite if you want a view directly onto the o2.

it was a fantastic easter holiday recently when we visited dublin. Our stay in Gibson Hotel in Dublin was a fantastic stay. though the location of the hotel is distance away from the down town but the tram staion is just inches away from the hotel main entrance make it very convenient for us.

Environment and ambient of the hotel room were excced our expectation. Breakfast served awesome too.

The only bad point about the hotel is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff was below my expectation. They seems impatient working out our request and very often rushing in with a simple answer and giving an impression they are not sincere in helping out.

Overall, i rated this hotel as slightly above average. Nevertheless, i will not going back to this hotel again in the future if ever I travel back to Dublin again.

Broke the golden TripAdvisor rule and didn't notice the amount of first time reviewers were leaving 5 * reviews...

The Good
It's new, modern, stylish and rooms kept very clean.

The staff (excluding breakfast) were friendly and efficient.

The Bad
It's a great location IF you want to be close to the O2. Otherwise it's a 25 minute walk, 10 Euro taxi or 15 minute tram ride to the centre of town.

The ventilation in the rooms was non existent. Room 422 was stuffy and hot the entire stay - even when aircon was put down to minimum temperature and full blast it had no effect.

The breakfast service was a shambles with customers having to get their own milk for tea and coffee from the cereal stand. Waiters walked past tables heaving with dirty plates. Sausages and bacon were topped up and overflowing at the buffet whilst there were no plates to put them on. Eggs were non existent. The gluten free section (nice thought) had patrons putting regular bread in their toaster (Google cross contamination). There were signs warning of the breakfast rush by the elevators - we assumed this was for seating not the ability of the staff to keep up. If you know there's a problem surely you can do something about, besides a great big sign telling customers to avoid the dining room at this time.

Parking isn't free - 14 euro a night.

Conclusion
GM needs to do get their act to together and stop messing around with Hoovers. Won't stay here again or recommend.

Nice hotel, very contemporary, massive rooms, spacious gym with the newest equipment, nice relaxation area, and above all, brilliant service. The bar downstairs has plenty of drinks to choose from, although, the dim sums were a bit ordinary.

The only draw back is the distance from city centre. The city centre (Trinity College area) is about 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel but it's a nice walk by the river. The hotel is at the O2 center and is very easy to get to by airlink airport shuttle, or by tram in and out of the city.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

I booked the Gibson Hotel as part of a surprise trip to Dublin for my boyfriends birthday. The hotel was extremely easy to get to from the airport via coaches outside the exit.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a lovely spacious reception area. I had requested early check in, but this wasn't available as there were no rooms yet available. This wasn't a massive fuss, we happily left our luggage with the nice receptionist & embarked on a day of sight seeing. When we returned, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was obviously an amazing surprise and really put the shine onto our stay there. The suite was absolutely gorgeous. Clean, spacious, well layed out with everything you could need. The private balcony was huge and provided great views of the city. The bed was pure luxury and ample in size. The bath robes and slippers also provided that extra bit of comfort for our stay.

The only slip up on the hotels part was that it was my boyfriends birthday & they wrote a birthday card out to myself accompanied by two cupcakes. This was taken in jest and very lightly by my boyfriend & was laughed off as a funny story to tell later on! We appreciated the gesture from the staff all the same & thought it was a lovely touch!

Although the hotel is not located in the centre of Dublin, it has very good transport links in & out of the city. The tram stops right outside the entrance & arrives every 10 minutes, meaning that the restaurants and shops are never too far away!

We both really really enjoyed our stay at The Gibson Hotel. So much so that we tried to change our flights back home, just to stay another night. Unfortunately we couldn't and had to reluctantly leave!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody seeking a comfortable & luxurious stay in Dublin.

Thanks Gibson!

Myself and my partner stayed here for three nights in mid April- the hotel is conveniently situated a short way from the hustle and bustle of central Dublin, but not far enough away to be left stranded. The hotel is the first stop on the Airlink bus from the airport opposite the O2- easy to find and get to. The LUAS point stop is right upside the hotel and is a short and cheap way to get into the centre quickly. The hotel itself was contemporary with simple yet surprisingly large rooms. We opted for the deluxe double which had everything we wanted for a quick city break. Although we did not use it, the hotel had what looked like excellent dining and bar facilities as well as the usual gym and sauna/steam-room arrangement. Wifi was also free for guests. Service was friendly and everything was clean.

All in all a good hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.
