“French Flair but v fair prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We booked our table for 5.45 a table for three. We went for the two course choice. tPlace was v busy mostly "young twenty something groups of students that seemed to be from some English school.I chose the fish and chips and both my friends went for sea bass on a bed of tagliatelle and small amount of mash. The service was very efficient and there were plenty of choices. There is a full bar licence for people that don't drink wine with their meal We all chose a berry crumble for dessert which came with crème anglaise. .When fnished we sat chatting for a further 3 hours and we were not asked to vacate the seats which we were happy about as we were v cosy there.

Would definitely be returning again. We had a btl of red wine and one glass of white. The bill came to €90 which was good value for money.

“Excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

It's a lovely restaurant, dark with atmospheric red lights. Waiters were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We went for the double baked cheese souffle and the seared scallops. They were both beautifully presented an very very tasty. The hake and the duck was for mains and again, exceptional quality, except for the diced potatoes that came with the hake. We didn't finish them because they were quite hard and tasteless. Foe dessert, we had the lemon tart - zingy! And the creme caramel- our favourite! Also you have to try their fruit and nut cocktails. They are quite expensive but, absolutely beautiful!! I would come back!

“Good Fast Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Went for the Pre-Theatre menu. Pork Rillette a bit dry, would benefit from a little bit more fat in it. Port Belly is a delight. As tender as you can imagine and a masterpiece for taste. 3 course for €21 and this food is good value. A miss for a friend who said he wouldn't go to a Restaurant in Talbot street. Service was very fast. I observed the waiters and waitresses serving the food immediately as is came from the kitchen. Fast, friendly and good food.

“A very nice dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Six of us ate here on the evening that the championship football game was being played. We had originally planned to eat at the adjacent pub, but that place was overflowing with "happy" football fans. A gentleman escorted us next door to this restaurant which was much calmer. Tables were set far enough apart so conversation was easy. The service was friendly and efficient with the waiter giving good descriptions of unfamiliar dishes. Three of us had fish and chips which turned out to be the best on our entire Ireland trip. Lamb and bass were winners. Soups and salads were also good. None of us had room for dessert. An inebriated young lady did come in and the host handled the situation in a quiet and professional manner. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a lovely atmosphere and delicious food.

“Fab food, great staff, lovely atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Went to Le Bon Crubbeen for an impromptu after work dinner yesterday. The food was delicious and the €25 three course menu was great value. I had scallops, lamb and ice cream, they were all faultless. Good selection of wines by the glass added to the great dining experience. The manager and all of his staff were very attentive. I would definitely recommend a visit here, despite the slightly dodgy street!!
