“Excellent RTE Orchestra, excellent Conductor David Arnold ,POOR Acoustics”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

The The National Concert Hall in Dublin is a great place to listen to good performers,They have a verity of shows, the chairs are comfortable and prices are decent. .The bar and other facilities are up to standard.. However ,ladies and gentlemen: the Acoustics are beyond the minimum level of acceptable Acoustics for a National Concert Hall. I would rate them as "Good High School Auditorium Acoustics " Absolutely a No No.The RTE orchestra, we listened to tonight, gave an Epic performance with conductor David Arnold, yet the fantastic performance got lost in the low grade Acoustics capabilities of this hall. What a pity.!
So the poor rating is only for the Acoustics .The staff are very kind and friendly as well.

Hi Arik11, Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your experience at the Hall. We are always delighted to get such feedback, particularly when it is a largely positive one. However, we are very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the acoustics of the Hall. Your comments have been duly noted and will be passed for consideration to the promoter and our team internally. We hope to see you back at the National Concert Hall in the near future. “Superb concert experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

1st time visiting the National Concert Hall and we were not disappointed. A lovely intimate feeling at this venue and the acoustics are superb. Very friendly and helpful staff. RTE concert orchestra are excellent and we'll hopefully be back for more shortly. Location is also very good as it's only mins away from St Stephens Green and there are numerous top quality restaurants and pubs nearby.

“Wonderful concert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Myself and my friend went to the National Concert Hall last nite to see Connie French...It was a pleasure from start to finnish...easy to book tickets online...very friendly staff even the guy at the door assisted elderly people going up the stairs which was nice to see it's always nice to attend the National Concert Hall as my Dad used to be a lecturer in the building when it was University College Dublin it's a wonderful building and they have it done up so well in keeping with the old building...We were shown to our seats by stewarts who were very friendly...and then at the interval went out and had a glass of wine my only gripe was that their were not enough seats for people to sit down on which was a pity as it's not that nice standing around drinking a glass of wine....a good nite out and dined in the Terrace restarant which was a lovely experience....Bit of advice try to book online to avoid disapointment and standing in a long line you might end up not getting a good seat or no seat at all...we were in row T and it was perfect any closer and it would be too loud....enjoy...

“Great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

I bought tickets a few days ago to see the Masterpieces of Ballet and Opera yesterday, at 2pm. The building is gorgeous, and I was surprised to see so many members of staff there to make sure everyone was having a good time! We went to the bar area to enjoying a dessert and a glass of sparkling wine before the performance. I though it would be very expensive but I was so wrong!

The sits were very comfortable, which is, I believe, very important if you want to enjoy a two-hour long show. Unfortunately, mobile phones could be heard throughout the performance... There isn't anything we can do anyway about it, is there?

Well done NCH!

Hi JulienClarke, thanks for taking the time to post the review here. Delighted to hear you had such a positive experience, apart from mobile phones going off. I'm afraid no matter how many announcements we make about turning them off, there is always one! Hope you get to visit us again soon. Best wishes, Joanne

“Love to go to the NCH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

This event atmosphere is so magical; when you arrive there is such a buzz and it doesn't make any difference who's playing or singing, it is always the same great atmosphere.

I can't wait to go again to just sit and be surrounded by the great atmosphere here at the NCH.
