Initially I thought I was in a different place to other reviews, but the 3 meter high ceilings confirmed I was in the right place!!. Ceilings with tiles falling off, carpet frayed and worn. Shower drain so smelly it permeated the whole room.
Yes, the one member of staff I dealt with was helpful and polite, but so she should be, it is her job. Yes the room was clean other than the smelly bathroom, but due to the dreadful smell we had to leave the windows open all night and the building is right on a very busy road junction, so no sleep for me. The longest quiet period between racing cars at 3 am was 36 seconds! I suppose it all depends on what you are used to. I should have walked out immediately but the hotel had already taken first night payment. I wonder why? Most reputable hotels ask for payment after the stay. Draw your own conclusions.
Do not accept room 22 under any circumstances.

We have not received similar comments as we are not having any issues with drains or do we have frayed carpets. With regard to payment - our policy is to give guests the option of paying their bill on arrival or departure. We do this only with the guest’s permission. We do not charge for just one night.
