I found this evening for my mum and she's the big fairy-tale lover of the family. The Brazen Head itself is worth a visit, even if you don't believe it's the oldest pub in Dublin (are cabbie was very adamant that it was not haha)! The menu has a nice selection to choose from and the portions are just the right size so you can enjoy the music and stories and the food equally! We were lucky enough to have Johnny as our speaker (I've seen reviews on here saying that he isn't always the one hosting, I didn't know that at the time of our booking, luckily things turned out alright!). He was wonderful and truly pulled you into the history of the Irish folklore and superstitions. The music during the main course was fun and a great break between histories. The only thing I would have liked to heard more of was the stories of faeries. There were a few quick tales during the main histories, and during the dessert course Johnny told us two nice, long stories, but it would have made the evening even more sweeter for me if we had heard maybe 4 or 5 long stories as that's what I was really interested in hearing. However, that being said I would highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling to Dublin who is interested in the myths and superstitions of the Irish countryside.
