“Nice hotel, easy to get into town, great value and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Stayed here for a two night break, with friends, on the 8th & 9th of September. Hotel was great for what we'd paid, clean comfortable and quiet. Full Irish breakfast was great! Only 200 yards from the DART station right next door to the very impressive Aviva Stadium in Lansdowne Road, or to be honest a nice enough 30 minute walk into the city centre, turn left out of the hotel and then right into Northumberland Road and follow this road into the city centre. You pass Merrion Square on the way and on a Sunday you have local artists displaying their art.

Dublin itself is EXPENSIVE, a pint of Guinness in the Temple Bar area was typically 5 or 6 Euros. We made one mistake when we went there, when a local bakery owner recommended a pub called Darkey Kelly's, a pub in Fishamble Street We went there on the Saturday night and the band playing were singing songs supporting the IRA and very anti-English and as a Brit I felt most uncomfortable and unwelcome, one drink and we were out of there!

This hotel provided a very good sensible and comfortable accomadation. Where it wins out for us, was the exceptional efficient and friendly service by all the staff. This a great location for access to Dublin City by bus and dart trains. The Aviva stadium is on your door step! We Will Be Back

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in the Clyde Court. The ambience of the hotel is lovely with lovely staff. Food was excellent value. The hotel is conviently located - a 20 minute walk from centre of Dublin or if preferred a bus stop is nearby with a regular bus service running to and from the city centre.

We recently had occasion to stay at the Clyde Court Hotel for 5 nights. The area suited us geographically and a BIG PLUS for us was that the Hotel is bookable through Supervalu Getaway Breaks - this was great as we had 2 trips to Dublin over 2 weeks -so we spent 3 nights (mid-week) the 1st week and 2 nights (at the week-end ) the 2nd week. From the moment we entered the Clyde Court we felt so,so welcome. This is because of the beautiful girl at reception named Georgia - she immediately recognized us as we had stayed at the sister Hotel , The Ballsbridge Inn, many times on previous occasions. It felt good to be remembered,- this girl will go places as she has excellent PR qualities.
Yes, maybe the Hotel is a little dated but in no way is it dirty- we found everything to be spotless in the room and we had the common sense to put the "please do not disturb " sign on the door handle at night if we didn't want the room to be serviced in the morning- there was always a cleaner's "trolley" on the corridor so we could always ask for extra towels/soap etc.We loved having the bottled water there in the room when we arrived- always dried out after travelling.
Restaurant/Bar/Food ARE ALL EXCELLENT-there was a group of Italian students staying in the Hotel over the 2weeks and we have to say they never once put-in on us. In fact I believe they had their own dining quarters and we hardly knew they were even around except for the lovely Italian language. we would occasionally hear while sharing the lift. Josip from Croatia serves in the Restaurant and is the most upbeat and genuinely helpful guy you could meet. He was a pleasure to meet, always eager to help with good-humoured manners.Food from Breakfast to snacks to dinner is truly delicious-this Chef is GOOD. Try the Ham Hock , Trout and Chocolate Mousse.................yum, yum and presentation is second to none.
Overall, The Clyde Court is, in my opinion a great place to stay- if you want full view of the AVIVA STADIUM which also means traffic noise if you leave the window open at night , ASK FOR ROOM 428- the quieter side of the Hotel with no traffic noise is better for us as we do like the window open at night. Either way - we will be back Clyde Court- looking forward !!!!!

Room Tip: Ask AT CHECK-IN , depending on your preference of view/noise etc.

My husband had a conference in Dublin and I tagged along. At the last minute my sister was able to join us, so we needed a larger room. We were able to upgrade to a suite for just a little bit more. Wow! The room was huge! Perhaps 3x the size of a regular room. It was a little outdated and there were some spots on the carpet, but I still felt the place was quite clean. My husband and my bed was very comfortable; the rollaway for my sister wasn't super great but it worked. The bathroom was almost as large as one of the regular rooms and had a huge (but outdated) tub.

Transportation to the city was very close by. We'd also just walk into the city sometimes as it was a nice walk passing either St. Stephen's or Marion Park.

The breakfast was amazing! It was on par with breakfasts at 5 star resorts in my opinion. The selection might be a little less, but the quality was fantastic. I was very surprised, as I only expected basic, dry, sugary food (or what you typically get at a continental breakfast in the U.S.) but it was much, much better.

I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite! It's worth the little extra money.

This hotel as you walk in looks great, with large nicely decorated areas, unfortunately as we quickly discovered the reallity is as thin as the veneer on the coffee tables. We stayed for approximately 14 hours and in that time failed to find any member of staff who could be bothered to provide any standard of service above poor. The food we were served was tasteless and some of our party complained it was cold. The bar staff seemed to be continually arguing with the waiters and our waiters at dinner could hardly speak enough English to as who wanted to order what. The final straw was when we were asked to leave the breakfast area because they hadn't been asked to start the serving 15 mins earlier than normal as we had a ferry to catch. Not so bad had the head waiter not lost his temper in the process. I'll find somewhere else for my next stay.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel as part of a bus-tour of Ireland. We checked in early, due to an early flight to Dublin. The front desk staff was very accommodating and got us the last room in the hotel. The room was very small, but clean. The tv was an old tube-type with only 8 stations on it. It did have a 110v outlet above the desk, which was a plus. It was a five minute walk to the US Embassy, and a really nice pub, I think it was called Bellamy's, where my wife and shared our first pint of Guinness on Irish soil.
The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest and the bathroom sink had a slow drain, but other than that, we had a good stay.
