“Location is everything”

Abigails is great for students and others travelling on abudget. I stayed there with a friend for a total of five nights. We stayed in a ten bed female dorm, we all shared a bathroom. The fee includes breakfast every morning. It's okay, but it's only the essentials, but you get what you pay for. The hostel is located right by the Liffey, and a five minute walk (at the most) from the Temple Bar area, you are right where you need to be in Dublin when you're staying here. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. hey could spend a few more money on cleaning, but it's not because it's dirty.

I have very mixed feelings about this hostel.
Good things first:
The staff is very lovely doing their job ok.
The hostel is situated right in the center of the city so you can walk to most of the sights from here with no problem.
Quality of the beds are fine
BUT
If you ever visit this hostel : ,AVOID ROOM NR 17
Right outside your windows the engine for the ventilation is running 24/7 making a loud humming.
As a bonus you can smell whatever they are cooking in the kitchen if you open the window, and as the room is hot, you more or less have to live with it.
If it is possible not to include breakfast. do it. It's not worth the money. OK if you like sugar with sugar on top it´s up your alley. Choose from chocopops and chocopops for cerial. Lukewarm juice, cold eegs and undrinkable coffee. Youghurt pumped with jam. Low budget bread. Discount jam and canned fruit. .BTW. why canned?, its nothing but empty calories like the rest of the breakfast.
Abigail you have to do better!

A great hostel right in the heart of Dublin with shopping streets nearby and the culture of Temple Bar literally on the next street.
The rooms were alright but could be cleaner.
As other reviews say, the common room is great, but the kitchen could be cleaner. However, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our own meals.

The reception is open 24 hours and the staff was really friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for one night by myself. The room wasn't bad at all - a big room with lots of people, but I was fine with that when I booked it. Security is pretty good - you have to see the desk every time you go inside the hostel to get a room card. Slightly annoying if there's a queue, but it meant there's no one wandering around who shouldn't be.

Huge common area, which was fantastic! Plenty of room for lots of people to hang out.

Kitchen cleanliness wasn't fantastic, but big enough with enough appliances and plates, etc.

Location was also great; I got the airport shuttle and the stop was literally five minutes walk away.

I would stay here again if I were to come back to Dublin!

Stayed 3 nights and I most say that this is an excellent hostel. It was the first time I was travelling alone to a foreign country for a job interview and asked for a quiet room. They gave me a bed in a 8 bed female dorm on the fourth floor towards the back of the hotel (that floor only has dorms towards that side) . It was spacey, the bed was comfortable, it had several sockets and each bed had electric station with a lamp, USB plugs and UK sockets. The bathroom was nice as well, spacious, warm and with pression water. There was as well a hairdryer and EU sockets. In terms of cleanness, I think the room was cleaned everyday but the bathroom each 3days (not sure though). You can rent a towel for 1? for the hole stay.
On the first night it was a little bit noisy outside but the rest of the nights I didn't hear anything besides the people of the dorm. It's important to bring earplugs if you want to rest and be prepared to wake up early with the sound of the others leaving the room.
The wi-fi signal was very low at this floor so while I was in the hostel, I was always in the common room downstairs. There you have 2 computers(paid) ,printers, lockers(paid), TV, guest kitchen, sockets and places to seat. Every morning you will have a breakfast waiting for you till 10:30 am, simple stuff like bread, coffee, milk, butter, eggs, canned peach and cereals.
The staff was always nice and the reception is open 24h.
The location is great, right in the middle of the town and within a walking distance of everything. Right in the corner you have a bus stop that goes to the airport (route 16) and there are several pubs and carrols stores in the surroundings.
The only downsides I found were: the cleaning ladies who weren't very kind, the wi-fi signal some times was not working properly and the cleaning of the WC should be done daily.

Overall, the experience was great and I will definitely come back again if I'm on a short budget! Amazing service for 16? per night!

Friendly staff, great location, free wifi (though I had difficulty connecting to it from my room), various choices for breakfast...basically nothing else to complain. Except that there was no drainage or ventilation in the bathroom, nor was any toilet brush.

his is my honest opion of the place.
location: ringht in the heart of the city. Easy to get to via Airport or bus terminal
customer service: very helpful
cleanness: place was clean after the cleanners cleaned it.
bathrooms: Located in the dorm, occasionally need more frequent cleanning
extras: 2 computers to use at a cost. Lockers is again at a cost. The kitchen is big and breakfast is simple.
Noisy: quite except the people in the same dorm
Breakout area: huge and WIFI is only available there....
Suggestions: Have more power points in the room, so everyone can charge there phone or device. No lights for each bed. Need to bring a torch to see at night.

Room Tip: Bring some extra money to pay for additional items, towel and lockers, PC, etc...
