“Nice, old style b&b”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

This b&b is a bit difficult to find, make sure you have the GPS coordinates for your navigator. The place looks like an old style British home, full of pictures, small decorations and so on: the rooms would be nicer if they were a little bit "emptier", but they are comfortable and clea. The host is very friendly and breakfast is one of the richest we had in Ireland.

Stayed here recently for two nights and what a real pleasure it was. The house is so tastefully decorated bedroom spacious, comfortable with amazing views. The hosts Mary and Sean are so welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts tasty and well presented. If you are planning a trip t Donegal then you won,t be disappointed with Ardeevin.

we stayed in the b&b after a wedding in Lough Eske Castle the room was small and cluttered, the shower room and toilet area was cramped.
We went in for breakfast and seated at a table for eight with four others almost finished theirs.
When we went for cerial the milk was sour, then it was replaced with milk from the table that other lodgers had not used all in their jugs and it was warm not chilled
When our breakfast was served we were served with butter from dishes the other lodgers had been useing
Very disappointed guests

Dear Guest,
It is with my sincerest apologies that we did not meet all of your expectations during your stay. Furthermore while it is not always easy to hear negative feedback,I appreciate your thorough critique as it will only help us improve our accommodations and guest services in the future. We pride ourselves on serving the freshest foods and have received many compliments about our breakfasts and so were very disappointed that during your stay (which I believe was during an unprecedented spell of hot weather ) you experienced issues with our dairy products.
Regarding your room, it was indeed smaller than many of our other spacious rooms and had we known that you were dissatisfied would have made every effort to move you to a different room.
I have addressed your constructive feedback with my staff and we are committed to rectifying these issues to the best of our ability.
Sincerely,
Mary Mc Ginty

We stayed one night on our two week trip to Ireland for our 30th wedding anniversary. The house and gardens were absolutely beautiful. One of the nicest B&B's we stayed at on our trip. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Everywhere we stayed was above average. Our hosts could not have been more helpful. The countryside was wonderful to awaken to, my partner however thought it was a bit far from town. Each place had it's own ambiance. I would give a thumbs up to anyone who wanted the serenity & quietude of a country home.

This is a lovely part of the country and Ardeevin complements it superbly. The road in is a little narrow and winding but the superb setting and views more than make up for it. The hosts are very friendly and attentive and the breakfast is excellent! The house itself is immaculate and the rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. There are nice touches with lots of interesting knickknacks and a very elegant lounge that has lots of fascinating things to look at and read. The view from the dining room is superb. A quiet setting that more than make rewards the drive in. This was certainly one of the better places we have stayed in on a long trip.

We arrived with reservations for two double rooms for three nights. One room was a very small double and the other was a very large family room. The couple staying in the family room had to move the next day due to a mix-up in reservations. Luckily, they received a very nice double room. After two nights, the couple in the small room was offered a larger room upstairs, but declined since it seemed like a lot of work to move for only one night.

Mary cooked the best breakfasts on our trip. We loved the variety of fruits, baked items, and hot cooked-to-order breakfasts.

Beautiful location, even though it isn't walking distance to town.

Due to the inconvenience of the room move and confusion, Mary sent us on our way with a bottle of wine that was greatly appreciated.
