“Beautifully appointed with fantastic views”

Just back from a weekend at Lake View House, 4 couples sharing. The house is spacious and well appointed with a state of the art kitchen and spectacular views over Lough Eske and to the Blue Stack mountains. With a full size snooker table, table football and even betting chips, wet weather is well catered for and the owner, Niall, could not have been more helpful. If this is an area you want to visit, this is the place to stay.

We were delighted with the house and it's beautiful panoramic view over the lough and hillside Breakfast outside at the picnic table each morning was wonderful.....Niall made us feel at home the minute we arrived and was quick to notice we had forgotten a football for the boys.....no problem within half an hour he had dropped off a ball and made the boys holiday. I would thoroughly recommend this house and all its luxuries for anyone who wants to get away from it all.

“Gorgeous house in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Lakeview house was the perfect spot for our late summer holiday in Donegal! The house is perched at a vantage point which offers a beautiful panorama of Lough Eske below and the Bluestack mountains to the side. Easily accessible from a nearby major route and only 10 mins from the shops, whether you're looking for a chilled out holiday with your family/friends or for a convenient base to sightsee, it should more than meet your needs.

The house itself is beautifully modern, airy and really spacious. There was only two of us staying, but there's enough bathrooms and bedrooms to ensure at least half a football team could be put up comfortably. High points for us included the state of the art kitchen with touchscreen oven, coffee machine and hob, the double height living room and the mezzanine games room with foozeball and a full size snooker table. My boyfriend was particularly devastated to leave the latter when we checked out! The house has good wifi throughout, which came in handy when looking to plan what to visit, and loads of tv channels/dvd player so even if it's raining you shouldn't be bored. We ended up traveling around most of the day but always looked forward to getting back and relaxing there each evening 'cause it was so comfortable and cozy. The owner is lovely and friendly and showed us around on arrival. His company is next door so he's always close at hand if you did run into any problems without being in any way intrusive, which suited us perfectly.

The house is very well equipped with pots, pans, cutlery and everything you could possibly want so you only need to bring towels and perhaps a hairdryer. We'd a great stay and would happily recommend staying here to anyone, they've clearly put a lot of thought and love into this place and it shows!

“How lucky was I?”

I must have picked the best week on record to stay in this beautiful house overlooking Lough Eske. The house was fantastic and equipped with everything you would need. The photos on this site don't do it justice - I should have suggested retaking some while I was there being a bit of an amateur photographer myself :-) It just didn't seem right playing snooker in 30 degree sunshine on the west coast of Ireland but I gave it a go anyway. We barbecued at night under the backdrop of Lough Eske and the Blue Stack mountains – you wouldn’t get that in the south of France. I will certainly be returning to Lake View House in the not too distant future.

“Enjoyable and relaxing stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed at lake view house for a week in May. On arrival, the first thing we noticed was the stunning views of Lough Eske. The owner was there to welcome us, he was very friendly and helpful. He showed us around the house and made sure we had everything we needed.
Where the house is situated it has quiet and peaceful surroundings which made the holiday very relaxing.
When we looked around the house we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the house was, it was more bright, airy and modern than we expected. The children loved the games room which kept them occupied for long periods while the adults relaxed in the lounge, enjoying the log burner. The kitchen is very modern, it is equipped with a built in coffee machine and theres a tap for instant hot water which is handy for hot drinks.
The house is close to harveys point and Lough eske castle.
We would recommend staying at lake view house as our stay was very enjoyable and we hope to return soon!

“Outstanding House in breath taking location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Location
The first thing that strikes you when you arrive at the house is the stunning views - uninterrupted stunning views over the whole of Lough Eske. Even on a dull day, the sun setting over the lough was amazing. The house has been carefully designed, with views of the lough from the kitchen, living room and main bedroom. It would be very hard for anyone not to stop and look at the view from this house. You can see the whole lough and miles and miles of Irish country side from the hillside position

House
Very hard to put this bit into words. The pictures will give you and indication of just how high a standard this house is. The house is owned by a guy who owns a kitchen company and this shows from the stunning kitchen. Even though we were on a holiday, cooking was an 'event' every night, with friend sitting at the island drinking wine and chatting, while others cooked in the very well equipped kitchen. You just have to look at the pictures to a flavour for how good this was. The kitchen even included a built in coffee machine, so we had proper coffee when we wanted. The living room was exceptional - with the huge and extremely comfortable sofa (where I actually fell asleep all night on 2 occasions!!). Was able to recreate a true Irish evening every night - with the fire roaring, curled up on the sofa, while watching the TV (full sky, with sky sports!!!). The bedrooms were a good size and comfortable but the big big plus was the games room, which over looked the living room - snooker table and football table provided hours of competitive fun!! I could not say enough about this house - it really needs to be experienced

Owner
Cannot leave a review without complimenting the owner. We arrived from Belfast in our own time and just called the owner who actually then drove to meet us on our way and led us straight to the house. After showing us around he left us to it. I did call him several times for local information and he was helpful in sorting out my query and always answered straight away.

I cannot possibly recommend this house highly enough. It was a brilliant few days and excellent base for anyone wanting to visit the area
